Network Connectivity

One of the many reasons why people buy phone is to access the internet. And everyone loves it when they can download and upload files at top speed. Well both phone provide users 2G, 3G and 4G internet connectivity. What this means is that you should expect same performance from both of these phone when it comes to internet connectivity.

But, the Camon 15 pro should have an edge over the Camon 12 pro given the fact that it comes withe more advance chipset and runs latest Android 10. We’ll have to wait for live test when the Camon 15 pro is released to confirm this.

Build, Design and Display

Both phone will have same build quality. That is, they’ll have front glass, plastic back and plastic frame. We might see some major changes in the design of both phones though. Reason because the Camon 15 pro will be coming with a pop up selfie camera. We can still expect to see curved edges on both phones but there won’t be any notch for the camon 15 pro.

In the display category, the Camon 15 pro is expected to bring better quality. As we have stated above, a newer chipset and latest Android version gives it major boost ahead of the Camon 12 pro in many areas. For instance, the Camon 15 pro offers bigger display size of 6.53 inches.

Its PPI density and resolution is also better than the Camon 12 pro. What this means is that you should expect better color quality in the Camon 15 pro. But the Camon 12 Pro uses an Amoled display type which is better than the IPS LCD display used in the Camon 15 Pro

Operating System and Chipset

The Camon 15 pro will the be first phone released by Tecno Mobile in 2020. And its going to launch with the latest Android 10 operating system coupled with latest Hios 6 Tecno UI. These two new software promise to offer better performance comapred to the Android 9 and lower version of the Hios UI.

In its chipset category, the Camon 15 pro is way ahead. i mean, its not like the Mediatek Helio P22 of the Camon 12 pro is bad but trust me the Mediatek Helio P35 of the Camon 15 Pro is better.

To conclude this category, you should expect to see better performance due to the newer chipset used in the Camon 15 pro. Also, you should expect better user experience in the Camon 15 pro due to the latest software that powers the phone.

Internal Storage and RAM

Both phones comes with 6GB of RAM which is pretty impressive. However, the Camon 12 Pro comes with 64GB internal storage while the Camon 15 pro comes with 128GB internal storage. They also have space for microSD card for persons who wants to increase the storage space.

With the option for microSD card available in both, i think both phones are okay in terms of storage. I mean, its not every time we get to fill 32GB internal storage no to mention filling a 64GB easily.

Camera

So we can’t really call this a complete comparison without talking about the cameras of both phones. Well, the Camon 15 Pro offers a quad rear camera with 48MP as main shooter. While the Camon 12 pro offers triple rear cameras with 16MP as main shooter. For selfie lovers, both phones are equipped with a 32MP camera with that of the Camon 15 pro been a motorized pop up selfie camera. We can expect pretty much same photo and video quality from the front camera of both phones.

Both of these phones can not shook 4K videos, does not have OIS, gyro-EIS feature enabled. But we should expect that the back camera of the Camon 15 pro will outclass the 16MP of the Camon 12 pro.

Battery

Camon 12 pro comes with a 3500 mAh battery while the Camon 15 pro comes with a 4000 mAh battery. No fast charge or wireless charge enabled for either phones. But the Camon 15 pro is coming with what Tecno calls the Safe Charge. We’ll know what that truly means once the phone is officially launched.

Prices

The Tecno Camon 15 pro is expected to cost about N67,500 Naira while the Tecno Camon 12 pro cost about N61,500. Well, given the fact that the Camon 15 pro is a new device, its price is not that bad. It is coming with a better chipset, new pop up technology and better camera.
