Tecno Camon 18 is the successor to the previously released Tecno Camon 17. It’s the third device released in the Tecno Camon 18 series by Tecno Mobile. This device has 48MP triple rear camera, 6.8-inches FHD+ resolution with 90Hz refresh rate and rocks the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset.

So, let’s talk about specifications of the Camon 18 and get to know more about this phone. We’ll start from its chipset, CPU, and GPU. Then we’ll talk about its software, camera, RAM, storage, and battery.

Chipset, CPU and GPU

Tecno Camon 18 rocks the MediaTek Helio G88 chip under its helm. This is a good processor but still falls behind the Helio G96 chip used in the Camon 18 Premier and Camon 18P.

The chipset has an octa-core CPU clocked at 2 GHz that is accompanied by the Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. This chipset does not have support for 5G but somehow, but has support for dual 4G and 120Hz refresh rate.

This chipset only has support for 90Hz refresh rate. And this is why the refresh rate of this phone at max is 90Hz while the other Camon 18 smartphones enjoy up to 120Hz smoother refresh rate.

Cameras

The Camon 18 has triple rear camera setup; a 48MP main camera, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro lens. Upfront the phone has a 16MP selfie camera placed in a tiny punch hole at the middle.

There is no Gimbal stabilization or periscope lens inside this smartphone. You also get to enjoy shooting 2K videos with the back camera and 1080p video with the front camera.

If you take photo and video quality seriously, then the more expensive Tecno Camon 18 Premier is your go to smartphone not this one. But, if you’re not the photo freak type or you’re low on budget, the camera of this device is pretty good.

The Tecno Camon 18 has a 6.8-inch display, FHD+ resolution with 90Hz refresh rate and up to 700 nits of brightness. It has small bezels and there is a tiny punch hole placed at the middle.

Its build material is glass front, plastic back and plastic frame. The phone is not water and dust resistant so keep away from water and dust.

As for durability, the front is Gorilla glass and the plastic frame is also very tough. But using a protective case and glass will increase the durability of the device.
