The selling point of all the Tecno Camon series have always been its Camera. But the Spark been a much lower budget Android Phone have price as its major selling point.

We know the Camon 15 is more expensive between these two phones but does the Spark 5 offer same value? i mean if the Spark 5 offers similar value it will be better to buy the Tecno Spark Phone and save some money. Lets get to see if the Camon phone is worth the extra dollar.

Now its time for us to start the comparison proper. And we are starting from the network connectivity of both phones.

Network Connectivity

In the network category both phones come with 2G, 3G and 4G. There is no 5G for either phone. This is okay given that the incoming 5G technology is yet to be available in most countries.

Build, Design and Display

Both phone was built with same material (front glass, plastic back and plastic frame). They also come with same punch hole at the top left of the screen that houses the selfie camera.

There are also some similarities in the display of both phones. Tecno Spark 5 and Camon 15 comes with a screen size of 6.6 IPS LCD display. There is no difference here and as far as screen is concern you get same value here.

Well, the fact here is that there is really nothing different in the display of both phones. Same built materials, same design, same display size and display type.

Operating System and Chipset

Both phones runs on the latest Android 10 Software and even use same latest Tecno UI HiOS6. Again, you get same value here.

If you ask me, I would have said I expected the Spark 5 to come with a more powerful SOC. At the least an SOC with more recent cores would have been good. But surprisingly, the new Tecno Spark phone is also coming with same SOC as the one found in the old Tecno Spark.

The Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 (12 nm) was used last year in the Spark 4 and its been used again for the Spark 5. Seriously Tecno, this s nowhere near an upgrade of the old phone. But, the Tecno Camon 15 comes with a much better SOC, the MediaTek Helio P22.

Well, its not like the SOC, CPU and GPU of the Camon 15 is the best in the market right now. However, given the choice of SOC in both phones the one in the Camon 15 is way better. Here is where we get to see the first real difference and reason for price increase of the Tecno Camon phone.

Internal Storage and RAM

So far, the Tecno Spark 5 comes in a single variant of 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage while the Tecno Camon 15 comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage. Both Phones have space for external storage via microSD card.

Again, the Camon 15 is better in this category. It offers bigger storage options and bigger RAM to handle multiple operations.

Camera

We said at the beginning of this article that the selling point of the Tecno Camon phones are its camera qualities. And the Spark 5 is no match for the camera powers of the Camon 15. While the Spark 5 comes with a 13MP main camera, the Camon 15 comes with a 48MP main camera.

Upfront, the Camon 15 comes with a 16MP selfie camera which is expected to be better than the 8MP selfie camera of the Spark 5. A third reason why you might want to pay the extra dollar for the Camon 15 is the camera quality it has to offer.

Battery

Both phones are powered by a 5000 mAh battery which is expected to last for a long time. In terms of battery, you should expect to see same performance.

Prices

Just like we said before, price is the main selling factor of Tecno Spark phones. The Tecno Spark 5 is expected to cost below $120, N45,000 Naira while the Camon 15 is expected to costs above $150, N73,000 Naira.

Well, its decision time and its time for you to make a pick between these two phones. But below is my conclusion about these phones.

Truth is, the Tecno Camon 15 is worth the extra dollar/naira. It has better RAM, Storage space, SOC, CPU, GPU and offers better camera qualities. I mean, if you have the money by all means buy the Camon 15. But, if money is a constraint then the Tecno Spark 5 is a good alternative.
