The Redmi Note series has been one of the best-selling Xiaomi phones over the past couple of years. It seems the models still retain the crown this year as the series just crossed another sales milestone for the company.
According to a tweet by Xiaomi India, the company has sold over 300 million units of Redmi Note phones globally making it one of the best-selling Xiaomi phones. This means the company sold about 60 million units of Redmi Note phones within a year. For context, a report by the company in October last year confirms that the company had sold about 240 million units of its Note series Globally.

India alone is responsible for sales of over 72 million units of the Redmi Note series. Xiaomi is getting set to launch the Redmi Note 12 series in India and the international market, hence the company is releasing some stats about the series.
The Indian division of Xiaomi has started promotion for the Redmi Note 12 series signaling the imminent release of the phone in India. Part of the promotion activities includes running contests and sharing stats on previous Redmi Note phones.
For those who don’t know, the Redmi Note 12 phones were launched in China back in October (two months ago). The series includes the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, and the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition which is the fastest-charging smartphone with its 210W wired fast charging system.
All the Redmi Note 12 phones launched in China have 5G network connectivity and the Pro Plus and Discovery Edition feature a 200MP OIS main camera. Xiaomi has been known to launch different versions of the Redmi Note series in other regions outside China. So, maybe the specs of the international versions of the Redmi Note 12 series might be different from those in China.

The Redmi Note 12 series that will make it to the international market might be Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. We don’t expect to see the Discovery Edition with its 210W wired fast charging.
If the models that will launch internationally will be different than the models launched in China, then the models with the 200MP OIS main camera might be restricted to certain regions outside China.

Whatever the case might be, it’s pretty impressive that Xiaomi has sold over 300 million units of the Redmi Note series. This success can be attributed to its affordability and managing to maintain premium mid-range specs at such a price.
