A new report coming from China has suggested that vivo might launch a phone that will have support for a 200W fast charge by the end of 2022. According to the report, a charger that is said to provide 200W output for phones and mobile devices has been certified in China. And as it stands, it appears that vivo has started manufacturing this charger.

According to Digital Chat Station, if vivo goes ahead to manufacture this charger, then you can expect to see it in the iQOO 10 Pro phone that is expected to launch by the end of this year 2022.

Another notable thing is that along with the 200W wire fast charge, we can also expect to see a 65W wireless fast charge. This is very impressive because the fastest wired charge in the industry right now is a 150W fast charge used in the likes of the Realme GT Neo3. And the fastest wireless charge right now is a 50W wireless charge which is featured in the iQOO 9 Pro along with a 120W wired charge.

Although there have been prototypes of phones that will use a 200W fast charge in the past, no phone has launched using a 200W fast charge. This is partly because there is a concern for battery life. So, if vivo plans to launch a phone that has support for 200W fast charge by the end of the year, the company must also think about the safety of users and the effect on battery life.

Just so you know, the latest fast charge solutions were able to be adopted because the companies split the battery cells into two. This means the charge is not going into one cell but two different battery cells.

For now, it’s unclear how vivo will be able to efficiently implement the 200W fast charge solution but as time goes on more updates will surface. And if vivo is able to pull this off by the end of the year, it’ll be the first company to launch a phone with support for a 200W fast charge.
