The Vivo V21e is a premium mid-range smartphone from Vivo Mobile. It is the second device released in the Vivo V21 series this year and it’s also the more affordable device in the series. But, compared with the more premium Vivo V21, there is very little difference – key differences to be precise.

Chipset, CPU and GPU
The chipset that is under hood of this device is the Snapdragon 720G. Snapdragon 720G is a gaming chipset from Qualcomm and it’s same chipset that is used by Samsung in the Galaxy A52.
This is among the trade offs you get with this phone. To lower the price, Vivo used a more affordable chipset. Truth is, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U used in the Vivo V21 is better when it comes to performance.
But overall, the Snapdragon 720G is a pretty decent chipset. It’ll get the job done smoothly anytime you need it to. So long you keep the task not too heavy and you cut down playing games with high graphics.

Cameras
Vivo V21e come with a triple rear camera set up as the Vivo V21. A 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. Upfront is an 44MP camera placed in a cut out notch at the middle.
The camera features of the device include the ability to shoot; 4K videos, slow-mo videos, gyro-EIS, AI photo, portrait mode etc.
But, it’s camera features are restricted. For example, you won’t get to enjoy the OIS feature you see in the Vivo V21.
Well, the company has to save cost and you won’t blame too much for removing some features to help make a more affordable version of the Vivo v21 series.

Display and Build Material
The display type of the Vivo V21 is an AMOLED panel with standard 60Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ enabled. It’s display size is 6.44 inch FHD+ with peak nit brightness up to 500 nits.
For it’s build material, it has plastic back, plastic frame and glass front. Although there is no known glass protection, the phone is however splash resistant.

Again getting removing the 90Hz refresh rate is another way to save cost. It’s almost as if Vivo is getting rid of all the good stuffs on this one. But hey, if you need these features, then you’ll have to spend more to get it.
RAM, Storage and Battery
Vivo V21e come with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also has space for storage expansion via microSD card. There is little preinstalled app which makes the phone feel personal. And this also gives you more space to use.
The battery capacity is non-removable 4000mAh with 33W fast charge – from 0 to 63% in 30 mins. No wireless charge and no reverse charge feature is available.

Software and Sensors
Vivo V21e runs Android 11 out of box along with the FunTouch 11.1 software. As far as software update goes, Vivo will be rolling out monthly security patch but we’re not aware if there is any major software update coming the way of this device.
There is 3.5MM jack which was missing in the Vivo V21. Fingerprint scanner is in-display and you also get to rock Face Unlock – if you like that feature.
