But which is the overall better smartphone?

The Vivo V27 Pro is a good smartphone but from my time with both phones, I found the Realme GT 3 o be better than the vivo V27 Pro in many ways. Granted, both phones have some similarities like battery capacity and display panel, but when it comes to performance and extra features, the Realme GT 3 is better. In this vivo V27 Pro vs Realme GT 3 article, I’ll be sharing with you the different areas where the Realme GT 3 is better than the vivo V27 Pro and vice versa.

Realme GT 3 offers better performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G chipset in the vivo V27 Pro is good but is not as good as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 5G chipset in the Realme GT 3. The fast CPU cores and more powerful GPU in the chipset of the Realme GT 3 explains why its performance is better than that of the vivo V27 Pro.

When playing games with both phones, the vivo V27 Pro did very well but when I pushed harder, it started lagging. For example, when a launched multiple apps in the background of both apps and started playing graphics-intensive games, the Realme GT 3 handled the gaming better and transition from one app to another smoother.

It’s important to point out that everyday normal users won’t have issues with the performance of the vivo V27 Pro. But if shove comes to push, the performance of the Realme GT 3 is more reliable than that of the vivo V27 Pro.

Realme GT 3 has a better display

The vivo V27 Pro has the same display panel (AMOLED), a similar display size (6.7 inches), the same FHD+ resolution (1080p), and the same HDR10+ feature. But, its refresh rate is 120Hz compared to the 144Hz of the Realme GT 3 and its peak brightness is about 1000 nits which is not as bright as the 1400 nits of the Realme GT 3.

To be honest, the 120Hz refresh rate display of the vivo V27 Pro is very smooth. However, the 144Hz refresh rate display of the Realme GT 3 is smoother. The display of the Realme GT 3 is just too fluid and this is even more evident when playing graphics-intensive games. I enjoyed using the screen of both phones but the Realme GT 3 no doubt has a better display.

vivo V27 Pro has a better camera system

The rear camera setup of both smartphones is the same. Both the Realme GT 3 and vivo V27 Pro have a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. The rear camera features of both smartphones are the same but the vivo phone has a better front camera.

On the front, the vivo V27 Pro has a 50MP AF front camera which takes better photos than the 16MP front camera of the Realme GT 3. Even the video quality of the front camera from the vivo phone is better. You can record videos in 4K resolution with the front camera of the vivo V27 Pro but you can only record 1080p videos with the front camera of the Realme GT 3. I also found the ring light of the vivo V27 Pro to be very useful when taking night photos.

Realme GT 3 looks more Beautiful

The design of the Realme GT 3 looks more beautiful than that of the vivo V27 Pro. No matter the color option you select, the design of the Realme GT 3 looks just too beautiful. However, if you like curved screens, then you might be tempted like some of my colleagues to prefer the vivo V27 Pro.

vivo V27 Pro vs Realme GT 3: Durability

Both phones have the same level of durability. None of the phones are certified to be IP68 water and dustproof and both phones are made of a Glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame. I tried bending both phones but none of them cracked. However, you should note that if either phone falls from a table height, the front screen and plastic back panel could get damaged.

Realme GT 3 has Faster Charging

The battery inside both smartphones is a 4,600mAh capacity. But, the Realme GT 3 supports 240W wired fast charging which is faster than the 66W wired charging in the vivo V27 Pro. From my charging test, it took me about 10 minutes to fully charge the battery of the Realme GT 3 while it took me about 19 minutes to fully charge the battery of the vivo V27 Pro.

The Realme GT 3 charges faster but both phones have similar battery use times. I was constantly getting more than 8 hours of screen time while using both phones.

vivo V27 Pro vs Realme GT 3: Software

The vivo V27 Pro boots Funtouch 13 based on Android 13 out of the box while the Realme GT 3 boots Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. Both smartphones will get at least two years of software updates. The user experience and navigation on both smartphones are different and both phones give users room for customization.

vivo V27 Pro vs Realme GT 3: Price

From my experience using both smartphones, the Realme GT 3 has a better performance, smoother display, faster-wired charging, and a more beautiful design. It also gave me extra RAM and it only cost me $70 more to buy. The vivo V27 Pro does have a better camera but I’ll recommend you buy the Realme GT 3 instead of the vivo V27 Pro.
