Vivo X90 vs Vivo X90 Pro vs Vivo X90 Pro Plus: vivo recently launched the vivo X90 Series in China which comprises three smartphones: the vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+. So which one is right for you to buy and what are the differences and similarities between them?

Vivo X90 vs Vivo X90 Pro vs Vivo X90 Pro Plus

Prices | Design | Availability

The cheapest one in the series is the vivo X90 with a starting price of $599, followed by the vivo X90 Pro with a starting price of $899. While the most expensive in the lineup is the vivo X90 Pro+ which has a starting price of $999.

vivo used a premium material for the X90 series. The Pro models come with IP68 certification making them dust-resistant and water-resistant. However, the normal vivo X90 has just an IP64 rating which is water and dustproof as well but not as durable as the Pro models.

As for the design language, all of the X90 series are alike. They have curved edges display with a cutout hole in the middle for the 32MP selfie camera. While the rear designs just as you can see in the picture below looks very alike but they do come with different sensors which we’ll talk more about in the camera segment.

Now as for their availability, the vivo X90 is now available for purchase but the shipment will begin on November 30. The Pro models will start selling on November 28 while shipping will start on December 6. You can use the box at the bottom of this post to make your purchase.

Display

When it comes to display quality, the vivo X90 Pro+ takes the crown. Even though all of the models in the X90 Series share some similarities when it comes to the display. For example, their sizes are the same: 6.78-inch curved OLED with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certified, and QHD+ resolution. However, only the vivo X90 Pro+ supports LTPO 4 tech and can max brightness up to 1800 nits.

Additionally, they all have an under-display fingerprint scanner for biometric verification. They have stereo speakers too with Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC support.

Camera

The vivo X90 Pro+ has a better camera system here. It uses Sony’s IMX989 50MP OIS 1-inch sensor as the main camera, supported by a 48MP ultrawide lens and with two telephoto lenses: 64MP OIS periscope and a 50MP OIS Portrait lens.

The vivo X90 Pro has the second position with a 50MP OIS main camera, supported by a 50MP OIS telephoto Lens and a 12MP ultrawide. The vanilla X90 is cool but not sophisticated like the Pro models. Though you are still getting a 50MP OIS main camera with a 12MP sensor for ultrawide and telephoto sensor.

Performance | Software

The king of performance here is the vivo X90 Pro+ with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, paired with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. While the vivo X90 and X90 Pro are using MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset paired with 8GB / 12GB RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB storage.

But software-wise, all of them boot OriginOS 3.0 skin software based on Android 13 out of the box. And vivo has promised up to 2/3 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches for all vivo X90 Series.

The vivo X90 lineup comes with a 4,800 mAh battery capacity, except the vivo X90 Pro+ with a smaller 4,700 mAh capacity. Aside from that, the other key difference between them is the charging speed. The Pro+ model with a smaller battery charges slower too with an 80W fast charge, while the X90 and X90 Pro support a 120W faster charge.

Vivo X90 vs Vivo X90 Pro vs Vivo X90 Pro Plus: Conclusion

The vivo X90 Series are the first 2023 flagship smartphones and for now, they are exclusive to China. But if you can’t wait for its global launch next year, you can use the box below to buy it. The Pro+ is the best in the lineup but the most expensive too. While the vivo X90 is the cheapest with lesser features.
