WhatsApp has made it a habit of including new features when its App is updated. There are lots of features that the App has promised to roll and some are still in the works. But some of these new features are closer than you think.

A new report has shown that WhatsApp is working on bringing new features for its users. At least three new features have been said to be coming to the chatting application soon. See the three upcoming WhatsApp features below:

Emoji Reactions

There have been rumors floating around that WhatsApp has plans if adding emoji reactions such as the one on iMessage. Well, today we finally get to see how the emoji reaction would look like on Android and iPhone.

Currently, WhatsApp users can quickly react to messages using six emojis. These emojis include thumbs up (👍), heart (❤️), face with tears of joy (😂), face with open mouth (😮), crying face (😢), and folded hands (🙏).

According to WABetaInfo, the emoji reaction will be end-to-end encrypted when it finally goes live. Although there is no official date as to when this feature will be available to the public but we can expect it soon.

2-Day message deletion time limit

Another feature that is coming to WhatsApp is the ability for users to delete messages two days after it was sent. WhatsApp currently allows users to delete a sent message within 1 hour, 8 minutes. After this time period, you won’t be able to delete the message from “Everyone”.

WABetaInfo has also shared that WhatsApp as plans of increasing the time limit from 1 hour to 2 days and 12 hours. This means, users will be able to delete message from “Everyone” even after two days.

This feature is under testing and is also expected to roll out soon. While some users might find this useful, others might now. Whatever the case, WhatsApp is increasing the message deletion time limit to 2 days.

WhatsApp Communities

It seems WhatsApp is also working on bringing a communities on WhatsApp. WABetaInfo also shared how this feature would work. From the screenshots, admins of groups will be able to combine similar groups under one Community. These admins can also send message across all the groups that are under one community using just one announcement message.

This feature was seen in WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.4.9. But just like the other features mentioned above, there is no known date for the WhatsApp communities feature to be available yet.
