Xiaomi has scheduled the global launch event of the Xiaomi 12 series for March 15, 2022. The launch event of the Xiaomi 12 series will be held online and will kick off by 20:00 GMT+8 (1 PM GMT+1). The Xiaomi 12 series that was launched in China early this year is made up of three phones, name: the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12X.
The phones have been available purchase in China for over a month now and it’s time for the company to bring them to the global stage. For those who don’t know, below is a summary of the phones in the Xiaomi 12 series.
Xiaomi 12 Pro
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the best phone in the series. It comes with a 6.7-inch display. AMOLED panel, and support for 120Hz refresh rate. It features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chip paired with up to 12GB of RAM.

The two stand-out feature that separates the Xiaomi 12 Pro from other phones in the series is its camera set up and battery. Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 50MP triple rear camera. All triple cameras at the rear are 50MP sensors and its 4,600mAh battery has support for a 120W fast charge.
Xiaomi 12
The Xiaomi 12 is the middle child in the series. It also comes with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chip used inside the Pro model but has a smaller 6.2-inch display. It however maintains the AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate support.

It also has a very different camera set up from the Pro model. It has a single 50MP main camera at the rear supported by 13MP and 5MP sensors. It’s powered by a 4,500mAh with support for a 67W fast charge.
Xiaomi 12X
Xiaomi 12X is the cheapest phone in the series but also packs a lower-performing Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. Its display is 6.28-inch, has the same AMOLED panel, and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. But while it might have a different chipset, it manages to have the same RAM and storage size.

The Xiaomi 12X also has the same camera set up as the regular Xiaomi 12 and also the same battery capacity and fast charging technology.
All three phones in the Xiaomi 12 series boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. With the phones in the series, you have a choice to decide which you would buy depending on the performance, price, and display size.
In order of premium quality, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the most expensive with a starting price of $899 in China. The Xiaomi 12 is the second most expensive with a starting price of $699 in China. While the Xiaomi 12X has a starting price of $599 in China.

We’re yet to see if Xiaomi will make Changes to the design, specifications, and prices of the phone during the global launch. I guess we’ll find out by 20:00 GMT+8 (1 PM GMT+1) on March 15, 2022, when the Xiaomi 12 series is finally launched.
