Xiaomi 13 Lite vs OnePlus 11R: The Xiaomi 13 Lite is one of the few phones this year with a dual front camera while the OnePlus 11R is one of the few phones this year with 100W wired fast charging. But, which is the better smartphone to buy? The Xiaomi 13 Lite or the OnePlus 11R?

I have used both smartphones for about a week and for many reasons I would encourage you to buy the OnePlus 11R over the Xiaomi 13 Lite. OnePlus 11R offers better performance

The chipset inside the Xiaomi 13 Lite is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 5G which is a good chipset but still not as good as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 5G chipset in the OnePlus 11R. The chipset in the OnePlus 11R features faster CPU cores that are more power efficient and it’s also equipped with a more powerful GPU.

Playing games in the highest graphics settings in the Xiaomi 13 Lite is not the best option. This is because the phone frequently hangs and lags at intervals. But that is not the case while I was playing games on the OnePlus 11R. Using the highest graphical settings on Genshin Impact, the OnePlus 11R was pretty smooth, unlike the Xiaomi 13 Lite.

However, when I switched the graphical settings to medium, the Xiaomi 13 Lite played Genshin Impact smoothly. Overall, I enjoyed playing games on the OnePlus 11R more than on the Xiaomi 13 Lite.

OnePlus 11R has a bigger & brighter display

The OnePlus 11R has the same display panel (AMOLED), the same FHD+ resolution (1080p), and the same HDR10+ feature as the Xiaomi 13 Lite. Both smartphones also have the same 120Hz refresh rate. But, the OnePlus 11R has a brighter display and is bigger.

The screen of the Xiaomi 13 Lite is 6.55 inches which is smaller than the 6.74 inches of the OnePlus 11R. Another difference in the display is the screen brightness. From my experience, it’s easier to use the OnePlus 11R under sunlight than to use the Xiaomi 13 Lite. The screen of the OnePlus 11R is brighter with a 1,450 nits peak brightness (the peak brightness of the Xiaomi 13 Lite is 1,000 nits).

OnePlus 11R has a better camera system

The OnePlus 11R and Xiaomi 13 Lite have the same rear camera setup. On the rear, both phones have a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The difference in the quality of photos and videos from the rear cameras of both phones is basically the same. But, the OnePlus 11R has better stabilization features and takes better night photos.

The front cameras on both smartphones are different. Xiaomi 13 Lite has a 32MP + 8MP dual front camera while OnePlus 11R has a 16MP front camera. From my experience using both smartphones, the quality of photos from the front cameras is relatively the same. The only advantage of the dual front camera of the Xiaomi 13 Lite is using the 8MP ultra-wide front camera to take photos of wider areas. For the extra stabilization features and better night photography, I recommend the OnePLus 11R as a better photo smartphone here.

Xiaomi 13 Lite has a better design

The design of the Xiaomi 13 Lite looks better than that of the OnePlus 11R. The Xiaomi 13 Lite looks cleaner and neater and the rear camera module is very modest. But, the single punch-hole on the screen of the OnePlus 11R looks better than the dual punch holes on the Xiaomi 13 Lite. Well, the design is subject to user preference and you can see the front and back designs of both phones from the photos below.

Xiaomi 13 Lite vs OnePlus 11R: Durability

The Xiaomi 13 Lite and OnePlus 11R phones have the same level of durability but the Xiaomi 13 Lite has an advantage. Although both phones are made of a Glass front, plastic back, and a plastic frame, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is certified to be IP53 splash and dust proof. A fall from table height will cause damage to the screen and back panel of both phones.

However, bending the OnePlus 11R in the circular module area on the rear showed signs of breaking. So I came to the conclusion that the rear circular module area is the weakest spot of the OnePlus 11R. The structure of the Xiaomi 13 Lite is stronger than that of the OnePlus 11R.

OnePlus 11R has a Bigger Battery & Faster Charging

The battery inside the OnePlus 11R is bigger and supports faster wired charging. A 4,500mAh battery is inside the Xiaomi 13 Lite while a 5,000mAh battery is inside the OnePlus 11R. The OnePlus 11R also supports faster 100W wired fast charging compared to the 67W wired fast charging of the Xiaomi 13 Lite.

Both phones offer long battery life but the battery of the OnePlus 11R lasts longer. From my experience using both phones, you’ll get about one hour and forty-five minutes more time with the battery of the OnePlus 11R.

Xiaomi 13 Lite vs OnePlus 11R: Software

The Xiaomi 13 Lite boots MIUI 14 based on Android 12 out of the box while the OnePlus 11R boots OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. Both smartphones will get at least three years of software updates. The user experience and navigation on both smartphones are different and both phones give users room for customization.

The price of the Xiaomi 13 Lite (8 + 128GB) is €499.90 while the price of the OnePlus 11R (12 + 256GB) is $599. The Xiaomi 13 Lite and OnePlus 11R are both good smartphones but the OnePlus 11R is better than the Xiaomi 13 Lite in many ways. The OnePlus 11R is cheaper (about $100 cheaper), has a brighter display, better performance, a bigger battery, faster charging, a longer lasting battery, and offers more RAM. The Xiaomi 13 Lite is too expensive for its features and it also runs older Android 12 out of the box which places the OnePlus 11R one software ahead of it.
