Xiaomi 14 Specs: The Xiaomi 14 is Xiaomi’s latest affordable premium phone. This is the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G chipset.
The Xiaomi 14 is the successor of the Xiaomi 13 which was released in December last year. Aside from the new chipset, it also has a new design, a better camera sensor, a front camera that can record 4K videos and many more. In this article, I’ll share with you the interesting specifications of the Xiaomi 14 smartphone.

Xiaomi 14 Specifications
Display and Design
The Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch flat display with a display resolution of 1200 x 2670 pixels. It has an LTPO OLED display panel that can auto-refresh between 10Hz and 120Hz. The display of the phone has a peak brightness of 3000nits and has features such as HDR10+, Dolby Vision, etc.
The front screen is made of Gorilla Glass and it has a glass back or silicone polymer back and its frame is made of aluminum. It has a punch hole on the screen that houses the selfie camera and a square rear camera module in the top left corner.

Chipset and Performance
The performance of the Xiaomi 14 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm. This is a 5G chipset that has octa-core processors with one prime core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores.
The prime core of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is the latest Cortex-X4 with a speed of 3.3GHz. This is estimated to be 32x faster than the Cortex-X3 prime core in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The chipset now also has an improved Adreno 750 GPU which is about 34x better than the Adreno 740 GPU from last gen.
With the improved CPU cores, GPU, ISP, etc in this new chipset, the Xiaomi 14 is expected to have a significant boost in performance. We’ll still have to compare it with the iPhone 15 to see how good the new chipset is. So, stay tuned for that comparison.

Camera: Photography and Video
Xiaomi 14 is equipped with three rear cameras and a single front camera. The smartphone has a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera.
The primary camera has dual-pixel PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS features while the telephoto camera can do 3.2x optical zoom. The front camera can record videos in 4K resolution, unlike the front camera of the Xiaomi 13.
Other camera features available in the Xiaomi 14 are the Leica lens, Dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR, 8K video recording, 4K video recording, gyro-EIS, HDR10+, 10-bit Dolby Vision HDR, 10-bit LOG, etc.

Software and UI
The Xiaomi 14 boots the Android 14 software based on Xiaomi’s new HyperOS out of the box. Xiaomi has promised at least four years of major software updates for the smartphone. The UI and navigation of the Xiaomi 14 are tweaked by the HyperOS and it looks really good.
Battery and Charging Features
The battery inside the Xiaomi 14 is 4610mAh and it supports 90W wired fast charging. Other charging features in the phone include 50W wireless charging, PD3.0, QC4, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
It will take about 32 minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 100% using the 90W charger. A single charge of the battery can last you for about 24 hours and maybe be a little more depending on your usage.

Security
The primary security of the Xioami 14 is the under-display optical fingerprint scanner. It also supports security systems like pattern, PIN, password, and Face Unlock.

The price of the Xiaomi 14 is $699 for the model with 8 + 256GB storage. The models with 12 + 256GB, 16 + 512GB, and 16 + 1TB are sold for $749, $799, and $899 respectively.
