200MP Camera Smartphone: Big numbers such as 108MP camera sensor and 120Hz refresh rate has been coming to mid-range smartphones of late. This means, more flagship specs are coming to mid-range phones. And Xiaomi is at the top of the list here.
The likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro come with 108MP main camera and 120Hz refresh rate for its AMOLED display. To increase the gap between flagship and mid-range phones, it seems 108MP won’t be enough. We need more.

New report no has it that Xiaomi is working on releasing a smartphone with 200MP main camera. A tipster known as Digital Chat Station (via ITHome) has stated that, the 200MP camera smartphone Xiaomi is working will be the most amount of megapixels on a smartphone yet.
Although Xiaomi has launched the most number of most 108MP equipped device, the likes of Samsung, Realme and Motorola also has 108MP camera smartphones.

The report also included that Samsung could also be developing its own 200MP sensor alongside Xiaomi. This new camera sensor is rumored to have 0.64um unit pixel, which is way lesser than the 1.4μm unit pixel area of ISOCELL GN2.
We have limited information regarding the sensor as of now. But you can be sure that this sensor ill eventually make its way to premium mid-range smartphones. Reason because, the mid-range QUALCOMM Snapdragon 870 chipset supports 200MP photos.

In other report, leakster IceUniverse claimed that Samsung is planning on launching a new innovative sensor this year. And that it could be launched under the company’s ISOCELL moniker. Samsung had also previously hinted on using a 200MP as a successor to the 108MP camera found on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
And been the testing ground of the South Korean tech giant, they might just test the 200MP camera in the next Galaxy S series. As of now, these are just speculations and just rumors. More updates coming on the development coming soon.
