Xiaomi has released another gaming smartphone and it’s the Black Shark 5 Pro. The starting price of the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro is $799 with a storage option of 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage. It also comes in the storage options of 12GB RAM + 256GB and 16GB RAM + 512GB that are priced at $899 and $1,059 respectively.

The Black Shark 5 Pro gaming phone is now available for purchase in China and you can now buy and have it ship from China to your country. Thankfully, the phone has support for multiple languages and comes with Global version software installed, includes Google Play Service, and OTA updating supported. For those who don’t understand Chinese, you can set up the phone in any language your prefer.

The Black Shark 5 Pro

The Black Shark 5 Pro is a premium gaming smartphone from Xiaomi (there is also the more affordable Black Shark 5). It comes in three storage configuration, a 8GB RAM + 256GB, 12GB RAM + 256GB, and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage. The phone boots JOYUI13 based on Android 12 OS out of the box with support for Dual Mode 5G and WiFi 6.

It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip paired with the Adreno 730 GPU. The phone comes with various cooling systems to help keep the temperature in check. Black Shark 5 Pro has “Magnetic Lifting Shoulder Button 2.0,” the dedicated keys allow greater control when gaming, whether it’s FPS or racing games.

The Black Shark 5 Pro features a Sandwich liquid-cooled system technology, two 100mm liquid cooling units placed on the two sides of the motherboard. The heat dissipation capacity is increased by 30%, and the CPU temperature is reduced by 18°. In addition, it also comes with dual VC cooling that features a VC cooling system and packs a 5320mm² large VC area.

The display size of the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro is 6.67-inches, uses an AMOLED panel, has FHD+ resolution, has support for a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. It is powered by a 4,650mAh battery with support for a 120W fast charge technology. You can charge the battery from 0 to 100 in about 15 minutes.

The Black Shark 5 Pro comes with triple rear cameras and single selfie camera. It has a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 main lens, a 13MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP Samsung S5K5E9 telephoto lens. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with an f/2.2 sensor. Only the 108MP main camera can shoot videos in 4k resolution.

There is no special stabilization feature and the quality of the camera is just good. Note that this is not a camera smartphone. But using the cameras will also help you capture those wonderful moments.
