The starting price of the Black Shark 5 RS is $639 for the model with 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage. While the model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at $739. This makes the Black Shark 5 RS $100 more expensive than the regular Black Shark 5 and $160 less expensive than the Black Shark 5 Pro (making the Black Shark 5 RS the perfect tie-breaker).

The Black Shark 5 RS

The Black Shark 5 RS is a gaming smartphone from Xiaomi and it’s the third phone in the Black Shark 5 series released by Xiaomi in 2022. It comes in two storage configurations, 8GB RAM + 256GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The phone boots JOYUI13 based on Android 12 OS out of the box with support for dual-Model 5G and WiFi 6.

Depending on the storage option, the phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip (for the 8GB RAM version) or Snapdragon 888+ 5G chip (for the 12GB RAM) inside. Both chipsets have an octa-core CPU that is paired with the Adreno 660 GPU. The phone comes with various cooling systems to help keep the temperature in check. The display size of the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 RS is 6.67-inches, uses an AMOLED panel, has FHD+ resolution, and has support for a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for a 120W fast charge technology. You can charge the battery from 0 to 100 in about 13 minutes.

Xiaomi Black Shark 5 RS comes with triple rear cameras and a single front camera. The Black Shark 5 RS has triple rear AI cameras, a GW3 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP telephoto unit. The front camera is a 20MP sensor with an f/2.2 sensor. Only the 64MP camera can shoot videos in 4K resolution.

There is no special stabilization feature and the quality of the camera is just good. Note that this is not a camera smartphone. But using the cameras will also help you capture those wonderful moments.
