Xiaomi Civi 2 Price: The starting price of the Xiaomi Civi 2 is about $439 in China for the model that has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This will be the first Xiaomi phone in 2022 to come with dual front cameras and feature the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm.
The question one might ask is if the Xiaomi Civi 2 is worth the $500 price tag. So, in this post, along with the Xiaomi Civi 2 price, I’ll also be talking about the Xiaomi Civi 2 specifications, its release date, and how you can buy this phone.
Xiaomi Civi 2
The Xiaomi Civi 2 is an affordable premium mid-range phone from Xiaomi. It is the successor to the Xiaomi Civi 1S that was released back in April 2022. Xiaomi Civi 2 is a 5G smartphone and it comes with a 32MP dual front camera, a 50MP triple rear camera, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.
To know more about the Xiaomi Civi 2, allow me to share with you the specifications of this smartphone starting with the chipset, CPU, and GPU.
Chipset, CPU, and GPU
The Xiaomi Civi 2 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 5G chipset. This 5G chipset is built on TSMC’s 4nm process technology. This chipset/SoC features an Octa-core CPU with a maximum CPU speed clocked at 2.4GHz. This chipset has a total of 8 CPU cores and the CPU is paired with the Adreno 662 GPU. The chipset offers a very good gaming experience with fast processing and good power management.
When playing graphics-intensive games, the Xiaomi Civi 2 won’t lag or throttle because the chipset can process and render graphics very fast. But the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip can not maintain optimum performance for a long time. It drops frame rate after performing for while and as a mid-range chipset, this is not so surprising.
Other interesting features of this chipset are that it has support for LPDDR5 RAM tech, UFS 3.1 storage, Bluetooth 5.2, Infrared Port, and NFC, and can record videos in 4K resolution. The peak download and upload speeds of this chipset are 4.4Gbps and 2Gbps respectively.
Xiaomi Civi 2 features a triple rear camera and dual front cameras. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera with 0.64µm pixels, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and PDAF features. The primary camera is the Sony IMX766 sensor which is a very good camera sensor. The main camera is supported by a 115˚ 20MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it has two 32MP front cameras that are placed in a punch hole on top of the screen.
The 50MP primary camera and 32MP front cameras can record steady videos in 4K resolution. Available camera features for photography and videography are LED flash, HDR, panorama, OIS, AutoFocus, gyro-EIS, Portrait, night mode, [email protected], etc.
Display, Design, and Durability
The display of the Xiaomi Civi 2 is a 6.5-inches 1080p OLED panel with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is slightly curved, has a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display has support for HDR10+, and Dolby Vision and its peak brightness is up to 1000 nits. The front screen and back panel are slightly curved and the bezels on the screen are relatively slim.
Xiaomi Civi 2 is made of a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), glass back, and aluminum frame. It is IP67 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins). Its rear camera module is placed in the top left corner while on the front it has a punch hole on top of the screen that houses the two selfie cameras.
The Xiaomi Civi 2 has its volume rocker and power button on the right side of the frame of the phone. It has a microphone, speaker grill, and USB Type-C charging port on the bottom frame of the phone. Sadly, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack port and no microSD card slot but it has support for Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).
RAM, Storage, and Battery
The Xiaomi Civi 2 comes in three RAM and storage configurations but the storage options you’ll get depend on your region. Its storage options are 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. This device has no space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot, so you can’t expand storage.
A 4,500mAh non-removable battery powers the Xiaomi Civ 2 and it has support for a 65W wired fast charge. You can charge the battery of this phone from 0 to 100% in less than 45 minutes. It also has no support for wireless fast charging and 10W Reverse wireless charging.
Software and Sensors
The Xiaomi Civi 2 boots MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. This phone will get at least three years of major software updates and four years of monthly security patches. You can download and install apps from the Google Play Store on this phone and even download major updates over OTA.
Xiaomi Civi 2 has an optical under-display fingerprint scanner. It also has support for Face Unlock and has support for Google Assistant. Other sensors and features are an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, NFC, Infrared port, GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, color spectrum, Quick Charge 4+, etc.
