Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Review: if there is any phone worth calling “Ultra” this 2021, it’s definitely this Ultra from Xiaomi. The smartphone is massive in all ramifications. It’s a record breaker because just few moments after it’s release, it outscored Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ by 4 points. With a total score of 143 points, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra charted DxOMark has the new smartphone camera king.

The smartphone camera isn’t hyped enough. Just like how Oneplus hyped its collaboration with Hasselblad, we wished Xiaomi will go to such extent. But I think there is no need for that anymore. As the Mi 11 Ultra’s camera speaks for itself already by topping DxOMark chart.

Photography and videography wise, the Mi 11 Ultra has triple rear cameras. A 50MP primary lens that is capable of doing many impressive things. This 50MP sensor enjoys the benefits of Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) with Dual Pixel Pro feature, that improves autofocus speed and accuracy. Also, there is a Smart ISO Pro feature, that helps capture HDR photos in an instant. The night mode is excellent as well.

Next is a 48MP ultrawide camera with 128° lens. Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra joins the likes of OPPO Find X3 Pro and Oneplus 9 Pro in the list of smartphones with 48MP ultrawide lens. The 48MP ultrawide lens has autofocus and can shoot macro photos. Like the other two cameras on the back, this one can record 8K video too.

To enhance zooming skills, there is another 48MP telephoto lens. The periscope lens offers 5x optical and 10x hybrid zoom. With this lens, you can record 8K via periscope + OIS availability to keep things more smoother.

Front camera is excellent. 20MP selfie camera that is capable of 1080p video making with gyro-EIS available to stabilize activities. You can never go wrong with the Mi 11 Ultra’s camera. Always remember that!

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra review isn’t all about camera alone. It is true that the camera is a major selling point. But also know that the wings of the camera capabilities hangs on the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Simply put, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip is the heartbeat of the Mi 11 Ultra.

The Mi 11 Ultra is available in 8GB RAM + 256 GB storage or 12 GB RAM + 256/512 GB storage variants. However, there is no space for a memory card.

And with the Snapdragon 888 chipset on board, you know 5G connectivity is fully available. Gamers, heavy users, and multitasking are all easy on this device. Enjoy your smooth ride with the Snapdragon 888 SoC.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Review: Display

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra get 6.81” AMOLED display with 1440p+ resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is water resistant as well. + It has a 120Hz refresh rate. But sadly, the refresh rate is not adaptive which can easily drain battery. That is a minus on the Mi 11 Ultra but you can choose to ignore and you’ll just be fine.

The display brightness can go as high as 1700 nits which is very impressive and stood up there in the industry at the moment.

Interestingly or weirdly, there is a secondary display on the back. It is a 1.1” AMOLED screen (126 x 294 px resolution) with 450 nits peak brightness. You can’t really do much with it though. But at same time, it is not completely useless. You can use it for notifications, plus it can be used as a viewfinder when taking a selfie with the primary 50MP camera.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Review: Verdict

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is currently among my best flagship smartphone of 2021 thus far. It is plumpy in all segments. Or better still, you can say it is massive in all areas. What some would also call an extreme device.

However, the important thing is that, the Mi 11 Ultra offers the value for its price. It’s a good one to buy if money doesn’t restrict your cash flow to purchase it- Go for it!
