Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 Early Details: Some early details regarding the Xiaomi’s next foldable smartphone – the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 – has appeared online. We are gearing up for more foldable smartphones from various OEMs in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Although Samsung has been very dominant in the foldable category, the Huawei Mate X2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold released this year showed that the foldable smartphone market is very open. And to kick things off, we’re expecting Xiaomi to launch the Mi Mix Fold 2 by the end of 2021.

Early Details of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 might be launch in the fourth quarter of this year -Q4 of 2021. And it’s expected to come use a Visionox display panel for its external screen. While the internet display screen will be Samsung’s display panel.
Using the display panel from Samsung means it has the opportunity of coming with 120Hz refresh rate – this feature was not available in the original Mi Mix Fold. Another report also suggested that Chinese manufacturer Optoelectronics may provide the secondary display panel of the Mi Mix Fold 2.

There is no camera, battery, chipset details regarding the Mi Mix Fold 2 yet. But as we go deep into the last quarter of the year, we’ll see more details of the foldable device.

Google, Vivo, Oppo, and Huawei upcoming foldable smartphones
Xiaomi is not the only OEM interested in foldable smartphones. From our recent reports, Google, OPPO, and Vivo are also tipped to launched their own foldable smartphones.
Most of the incoming foldable smartphones will be different in forms and style. For example, Google’s smartphone will adopt the in-folding solution. And the device will make use of Samsung’s 7.6-inch screen and may arrive sometime around October.

Vivo foldable smartphone is similar to what Google is bringing but it’s likely going to have a bigger display size.
OPPO on the other hand is going for a clamshell device. The company is trying to bring a foldable phone that focuses on portability and practicality. Samsung is also included in the list of display panel supplier including BOE and Visionox. But, we might have to wait a little longer to see what OPPO is bringing as new report suggests it might delay till 2022.
After the release of the Mate X2, Huawei is also working on the Huawei Mate X3 and with the release of its HarmonyOS 2, one can only anticipate to see what it’s bringing. Stay tune for more details on foldable smartphones.
