Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Review: despite its 108 MP Penta rear cameras, It took me only a few time to discover the flaw of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, also known as the Xiaomi Mi CC9 PRO in the Chinese Market. A great device it is! but certainly not the best. Maybe a Pro version is forthcoming to fix this loophole.

After my dealing with the smartphone for sometime, here is my honest review of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (Mi CC9 PRO).

PRICE

As usual, it’s my custom to start a phone review with the price category. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 price starts at $606 which is approximately 210,000 naira. At such price you’ll expect the smartphone to come with a mouthwatering Specs and features. Well, it did come with amazing features but not in a full complete package. DESIGN AND DISPLAY

Have you see the Huawei P30 Pro? The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 design is not far off from it. In short, if not for the branding on both devices, you could hardly have separated this one from the other. But even at that, I must commend the Chinese tech company for its effort.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 have a curved screen with a 6.47 super Amoled Touchscreen under the protection of gorilla glass 5. However, the design on the rear isn’t that perfect. As the camera arrangement or placement was not properly done. It was arranged in such way that one’s hand could easily cover one of the lenses unknowingly. While the design is not bad, it wasn’t innovative either.

CAMERA

Here I must applaud Xiaomi for an excellent job well done. In this festive season, anyone looking for a camera smartphone should go for the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 without thinking it twice. With its 108 MP Penta camera and 32MP front camera for selfies, you’ll get nothing less but greatness.

Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 camera is good not just because of its numbers but rather because of its features. Simply put, the smartphone cameras are versatile. It may interest you to know that two cameras out of the rear five are for telephoto. A 5MP 2x optical zoom and another 12MP 5x optical zoom.

Right at the back, there is also a 20MP ultrawide camera and another 2MP macro cam. All of these four works collaboratively with the 108 MP main camera to deliver brilliantness.

Thus, if you are looking for a camera smartphone don’t look far because the Xiaomi Mi Note is right here.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 runs out of the box on Android 9 Pie, and will be upgrading to Android 10 in near time. But it did come out of the box on MIUI 11. Xiaomi’s own latest software.

However, while Xiaomi is being applauded for the camera set up on the Mi Note 10, reverse is the case of its Hardware.

I wonder why Xiaomi would create a great smartphone like this only for it to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Chipset. Sincerely speaking, had this smartphone been powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or 855+, it certainly would have given other brands a run for their money.

Moreover, the smartphone lags once in a while with this Chipset (Snapdragon 730G). Expecially when under heavy usage like the playing of heavy duty games and a little more. Thus making me believe that the SDM730G wasn’t the right choice for this device. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 would have been far and more better. Let’s just hope Xiaomi is bringing a Pro version of this device that will be using the Snapdragon 855 chip soon, else I’ll be so disappointed.

Also the smartphone is available in 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM with no space for an SD card, which is not cool. However, there is also a possibility of a 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM variant coming soon. It’s a maybe something though.

BATTERY

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 comes with a 5260mAh battery capacity that supports 30W fast charge. The battery is so strong and can last you for an unimaginable time.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Review: CONCLUSION

It is safe to say that Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is a good smartphone but not a complete package. While the smartphone is good at some, it also flopped at some. So here is my final take on the device.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is more of a camera smartphone than a performing smartphone. While it is very good in taking pictures, sadly, same can’t be said of its hardware (Performance).

Thus, if you are paying such outrageous price ($606) to get this device. Keep it in mind that you are more of buying a 5 star camera gadget than a smartphone. Because truly you can get a more performing Realme X2 Pro at a more affordable price.
