Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual: Flagship phones are really nice but are very expensive. But you see low entry phones, they are very affordable while managing to retain the smart features in modern phones. Xiaomi have announced the release of the Xiaomi Redmi 8A dual as new device into its low entry category.
Last year, Xiaomi released the series of the Redmi Note 8 which includes; Redmi Note8 pro, Redmi Note8 and Redmi 8A. With the Redmi 8 pro been a high mid-range device, Redmi 8 been a mid-range device while the Redmi 8A been a budget or low entry smartphone.

User have been expecting the announcement of the Redmi 9 series after that of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. But it seems we have to wait a little longer as Xiaomi have decided to bring out something for those who can’t afford premium phones right now. What are the features of this newly released affordable Xiaomi smartphone?

Build and Display
The Redmi 8A Dual has a Front glass, plastic body and a IPS LCD display type. Its display size is 6.22 inches and it has a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~270 ppi density). It also comes with a Gorilla glass 5 protection for the display. Which is really good as it help protects the screen.
There is little or not difference between the phone and the Redmi Note 8 series. Comes with same dew drop notch, little bezel at the top with curved edges.

Chipset, RAM and Internal Storage
It comes with the Qualcomm SDM439 Snapdragon 439 (12 nm) chipset produced by Qualcomm. Uses Adreno 505 as its GPU with a CPU speed of Octa-core (4×1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.45 GHz Cortex A53). The phone is a low budget smartphone hence we don’t expect it to run newly released chipsets for flagship phones.
The phone comes in two variants, the 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage and the 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. There is also a space for external storage via microSDXC (dedicated slot). This is relatively good as more files can be saved and the phone can process more data with the installed RAM size.
Camera
The phone comes with a dual rear cameras. It has a 13 megapixel main shooter and a 2 megapixel assistant lens. You can expect to take good photos with the camera and shoot good videos too.
Up front the phone uses a 8 megapixel camera placed in a dew drop at the middle. The cameras of the phone have the HDR, Led flash and panorama features enabled. So you can expect to take pretty clear photos.

Software and Battery
The phone run out of the box Android 9 which is really good. It is also accompanied by the One MIUI 11 graphical user interface. Redmi 8A Dual is powered by a 5000mAh with fast charge enabled. The fact that this phone does not come with a finger print sensor takes away some fun. But then again, there are more ways to keep your phone secured aside from fingerprint. This phone is expect to be release somewhere in February 2020 (most likely 18th of February).
This phone is yet to be announced for sale in the global market. As at now we can not say for sure if the phone will be sold in the Nigeria market. We’ll update this post when there is any news regarding this phone availability in the market.
