Xiaomi will be bringing a new budget midrange phone to Nigeria and it’s the Redmi 9T. According to the Xiaomi Nigeria Twitter account, this new Redmi phone will be launched in Nigeria January 27th.

Key features of Redmi 9T

The Xiaomi Redmi 9T will come with a 6.53 IPS LCD display with a dew drop cut out notch at the middle. It’s had a plastic back, plastic frame and glass front. But that is not all, there is even more.

This phone will come with a quad rear camera with the main camera having 48MP sensor. Then there is the 8MP Ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Upfront is an 8MP selfie camera for those clear selfies.

Key features of the cameras are; record videos @1080p 30fps, pro camera feature where you get to play with the camera and optical zoom features.

It will run Android 10 out of the box along with the MIUI 12 skin software. It’s chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 with Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz frequency. Adreno 610 GPU is there to get all the graphics and gaming work done for you.

This phone also has 4GB of RAM or 6GB of RAM depending on region. There is also 64GB and 128GB Internal storage. Hopefully Nigerians and other African countries will get both models launched.

There is a whopping 6000mAh battery to keep the phone alive. You’ll also enjoy a fast charge up to 18W and reverse charge up to 2.5W.

Finally to wrap it up is the Gorilla Glass 3 protection glass, a side mounted fingerprint sensor and other AI features.

The price of the Redmi 9T is expected to range between 61,000 – 75,000 Naira for the base variant. But come January 27th we’ll know the actual price.
