IDC has confirmed that Apple sold the most phones in 2023 than any other tech company in the world. Samsung has taken the lead for the past decade (since 2011), but 2023 was different as Apple took the crown away from Samsung.

According to IDC data, Apple shipped 234.6 million smartphones last year, for a market share of 20.1%, while Samsung only managed 226.6 million shipments taking 19.4% of the market share.
In third place was Xiaomi with 145.9 million smartphones shipped and 12.5% market share, followed by Oppo with 103.1 million phones shipped and 8.8% of the market, and Transsion with 94.9 million units shipped for an 8.1% share.
