Apple may continue to rely on Qualcomm’s 5G modems for its subsequent iPhones. At least for the next 2 generational iPhones. According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple won’t be ready to transition to Apple 5G modems until 2024. So Qualcomm will continue to supply Apple with 5G chips for the next few years.

The forthcoming iPhone 14 Pro series will be powered by the A16 Bionic chipset. And since Apple has failed in its development of the 5G modem, it simply means Qualcomm will be the sole supplier of 5G chips for Apple.
However, Kuo is optimistic that eventually, sometime in the nearest future, Apple will succeed with its own 5G development. And by the time Apple is ready with its 5G chip, Qualcomm would have fully diversified other aspects of its market.
