Honor Magic 4 Pro Review: Display, Design, and Build
The Honor Magic 4 Pro has a 6.81-inch OLED display. It has a 2K display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also features LTPO technology and can refresh between 1Hz and 120Hz. The display is also slightly curved on all four sides.
Aside from the display, the design of the Magic 4 Pro is also pretty impressive. It has a front glass with a big punch hole on the top left that houses dual selfie cameras. While on the rear, there is a big circular camera module where the rear cameras are placed.
The build materials used for the Magic 4 Pro are the Glass front (Aluminosilicate glass), aluminum frame, and glass back. The Honor Magic 4 Pro is also very durable because it is rated IP68 water and dustproof. You can take this phone for a swim and take some underwater photos.
To be truthful, the display of the Honor Magic 4 Pro is not the brightest I’ve seen in a 2022 flagship phone. But, it has really good colors and checks all the boxes of a flagship display.

Honor Magic 4 Pro Review: Chipset and Performance
The chipset inside the Honor Magic 4 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is a 5G chipset that is built on 4nm process technology. This chipset has an octa-core CPU with a speed clocked at 3.0GHz. The CPU is paired with the powerful Adreno 730 GPU. So, when it comes to gaming and rendering graphics, the Honor Magic 4 Pro is awesome.
When playing games, the phone does get warm a little but not hot. And from my experience using the phone, the chipset can perform consistently for a long time. You can also play games using the highest graphic settings without experiencing any lags.

Honor Magic 4 Pro Review: Camera
Taking photos and shooting videos is one of the main reasons people buy smartphones. And if you’re spending close to or probably above $1,000 to buy a smartphone, it better brings its A-game when it comes to the camera. So, did the Honor Magic 4 Pro has what it takes to be a top camera smartphone?
The short and simple answer to the above question is YES, but allow me to explain. The camera setup of the Honor Magic 4 Pro is pretty interesting. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera multi-directional PDAF, and Laser AF features. The primary camera is supported by a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 64MP telephoto lens, and a TOF 3D lens. On the front, it has a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a TOF 3D lens.
The cameras of the Honor Magic 4 Pro can click sharp and colorful photos. Even under low light conditions and night photography, the Magic 4 Pro takes really good photos. Both the front and back cameras can shoot videos in 4k resolution but only the back camera has a video stabilization feature.
The cameras of the Honor Magic 4 Pro are not only but are also very versatile. You can do 100x digital zoom using the camera’s ultra fusion technology and still get good detail from the photo. There are lots of photo and video editing features when using the cameras. Overall, the camera experience of the Honor Magic4 Pro is not boring.

RAM, Storage, and Software
Honor Magic 4 Pro comes with 8GB RAM or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The storage configuration you get depends on your region. But none of the models has space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot. So, you can’t expand the storage.
The Honor Magic 4 Pro boots Magic UI 6 based on Android 12 out of the box. Honor has promised three years of major software updates and four years of security patches. Yes, the Honor Magic 4 Pro has support for Google Mobile Services and you download and install apps from the Google Play Store on this phone.

Honor Magic 4 Pro is powered by a 4,600mAh battery with support for a 100W wired and wireless fast charge. You can charge this phone from 0 to 100% in about 29 minutes using the 100W fast charge. And using the 100W wireless charge, you can charge the phone from 0 to 100 in about 32 minutes.
The battery of the Magic 4 Pro lasts for a long time. You can easily get 7 hours screen on time which falls in the same line as other flagship phones in the market right now.

This Honor Magic 4 Pro review has shown that the phone is a worthy 2022 flagship smartphone but the Huawei Ban stigma is holding it back. But, looking beyond the stigmatization shows how good the Magic4 Pro is.
The Honor Magic 4 Pro ticks all the proper boxes for a flagship phone. It has an awesome display, it’s durable, it has really good cameras, it features a powerful chipset, has long battery life, and has very good charging features. However, it’s quite an expensive smartphone because other flagship phones will cost you less and offer the same or more.
