Both companies have now released the Honor Magic 4 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro as their respective 2022 flagship phones. But between the Magic4 Pro and the OnePlus 10 Pro, which is better?

Honor Magic 4 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Display and Design
Both of these phones come with the same display technology and display features. The display of both phones is 2K or QHD+ resolution, both have AMOLED panels, both have support for 120Hz refresh rate, both have support for HDR10+, and both phones feature the LTPO 2.0 display technology.
Another similarity between both phones is the slightly curved edges on both phones. However, the display of the Magic4 Pro is about 0.11-inches bigger and it also has a bigger notch on the screen that houses a 12MP camera and a TOF 3D depth sensor. The Magic4 Pro is also certified to be water and dust-resistant but the OnePlus 10 Pro has no IP68-certified rating.
Another difference is that the display of the OnePlus 10 Pro is protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus while that of the Magic4 Pro is protected by an Aluminosilicate glass. The Gorilla Glass Victus is still the industry’s strongest glass for protection even by 2022 standards.

Honor Magic 4 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Camera
When it comes to cameras the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a triple rear camera setup but with different sensors: a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Upfront it comes with a 32MP selfie camera.
The Honor Magic 4 Pro comes with a total of six cameras. It has a 50MP main camera with multi-directional PDAF and Laser AF. The main camera is supported by a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom feature, a 50MP Ultra-wide lens, and a TOF 3D depth sensor. Upfront it has a 12MP selfie camera and a TOF 3D depth sensor lens.
OnePlus partnered with Hasselblad to calibrate the colors of photos from the cameras of the OnePlus 10 Pro. This means you’ll get more colorful photos from the OnePlus phone. But, the cameras of the Magic 4 Pro are really impressive with their depth sensor features.
Both the front and back cameras of the Magic 4 Pro can shoot videos in 4K resolution. Whereas, only the back camera of the OnePlus 10 Pro can shoot videos in 4K resolution. The telephoto lens of the Magic4 Pro is capable of 3.5x optical zoom while that of the OnePls 10 Pro maxes out as 3x.
There is also a TOF 3D assistant lens to improve the depth of field and blur the background of images making the subject of the photo stand out more in the Magic 4 Pro but that feature is not available in the OnePlus 10 Pro. The cameras of the OnePlus 10 Pro are really impressive. Photos and videos are of top quality but they still come behind the cameras of the Magic4 Pro in the order of things.

The performance you get on both smartphones is the same. This is because the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powers both smartphones. Both phones have the same CPU cores, the same CPU clock speed, the same GPU cores, the same ISP, the same NPU, and the same AI chips.
These two phones have support for 5G network connectivity. The RAM inside both phones starts from 8GB but the storage option of the OnePlus 10 Pro starts from 128GB while that of the Magic 4 Pro starts from 256GB. The maximum internal storage capacity is 512GB and non of these phones have the option for storage expansion via a microSD card.
As far as performance goes, both phones are pretty much the same. Both phones can do graphics-intensive work without issues and also play high-resolution games at the highest frame rates and settings.

Honor Magic 4 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Software
The OnePlus 10 Pro and Honor Magic 4 Pro run Android 12 out of the box along with their respective UI. Both Honor and OnePlus have promised three years of major software updates for these smartphones. This means both phones will get upgraded to Android 15 in the future.
In addition to the three years software update, both phones will also be getting security patches for five years. Three years of major software updates are not the best in the phone industry but it’s a pretty good deal.
Honor Magic 4 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Battery
Both the OnePlus 10 Pro and the Honor Magic4 Pro are powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The OnePlus 10 Pro has support for an 80W fast charge while the Magic 4 Pro has support for a 100W fast charge technology. These two phones also have support for wireless charging technology.
While it might take you the same time to drain the battery on both phones, it’ll take you less time to fully charge the battery inside the Honor Magic4 Pro.

Honor Magic 4 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Price
The price of the OnePlus 10 Pro 8 + 128GB storage option is about $899 and the 8 + 256GB storage option of the Honor Magic 4 Pro is priced at $1,099. The extra storage of the Magic 4 Pro makes it the more expensive phone here.

So, between the OnePlus 10 Pro and the Honor Magic 4 Pro which is better?
Both phones offer just about the same quality. You get the same chipset, the same display quality, the same battery capacity, and similar storage options. But, the Magic4 Pro has some extra camera features, a slightly bigger display, and better-charging technology.
If I’m to score both smartphones, I’ll score the Honor Magic 4 Pro (53%) and the OnePlus 10 Pro (47%).
