Galaxy S24 to feature a Snapdragon chipset with better performance
According to IceUniverse on twitter, the Galaxy S24 phones will make use of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This chipset is said to be coming with 1+5+2 CPU core configuration.
This means the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will have one primer core, five performance core, and two efficiency cores. The frequencies of these CPU cores are not known yet but this is a different CPU architecture than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 used on the current Galaxy S23 phones.

Aside from the different CPU architecture, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is also said to be coming with 10MB of L3 cache. L3 cache (Level 3 cache) is a memory cache in the chipset that stores and feeds data to the L2 cache. This allows the CPU process data faster as it takes jobs from the CPU.
So, a bigger L3 cache means the chipset can store more data allowing the CPU to work more efficiently. The Adreno 750 GPU is said to be the graphics unit of the incoming chipset. Rumors has it that it’s greatly improved compare to the Adreno 740 used on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

All these changes will be very useful if Samsung equipped the Galaxy S24 phones with proper cooling system. At face value, the changes is a welcomed development but without proper internal cooling, the device might overheat, throttle, and drop frame rates quickly.
We expect the Samsung Galaxy S24 phones to be launched early next year. More information will be available as we get closer to the launch date.
