Huawei Mate X2 Price in Europe: The European price starts from EUR 2,300 for the 8GB RAM + 256 GB storage and go up to EUR 2,420 for the 8GB RAM + 512 GB storage unit. Both variants are 5G enabled.

This Huawei smartphone is made of quality. From the build design down to the innards specifications. For the first time a foldable device has a periscope camera. More interesting also is the Hiscilicon Kirin 9000 5G chipset that powers the Huawei Mate X2.

The Mate X2 inner display measures 8-inches in diagonal and has a squarish aspect ratio of 8:7.1 and a resolution of 2480 x 2200. Whild the external screen is 6.45” in diagonal and has a 21:9 aspect ratio. Both displays are OLED panels with 90Hz refresh rate enabled.

Moreover, the hinge design of the Huawei Mate X2 is better and more advanced than any other foldable device out there. The hinge design allows the phone to be closed seamlessly (i.e. without a gap). Something Samsung couldn’t achieve in its Fold2.

The primary camera of the Mate X2 is 50MP with a 1/1.28” RYYB sensor. It has an f/1.9 aperture and supports OIS and can record 4K video. Interestingly, with the second screen, it can also be used to shoot selfies.

There is a 10x periscope lens (f/4.4) with OIS and an 8 MP RYYB sensor. It offers 20x hybrid zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. While the third lens is a mid-range zoom module with a 12MP sensor, 3x optical magnification, f/2.4 aperture and OIS.

The ultrawide wide lens is 16MP that can also serve as a macro camera.

Disappointingly, while we all expected the Mate X2 to run HarmonyOS out of the box, it didn’t. Instead, the official specs list the OS as EMUI 11.0 based on Android 10. It is still something those outside China would find difficult to use anyway.

The foldable phone has 8 GB of RAM plus 256 or 512 GB of storage with a dual SIM slot where the second SIM slot can accept a NM memory card.

When it comes to the battery and box pack, Huawei did its best. As the Mate X2 has 4,500 mAh battery that supports Super Fast charging at 55W using the supplied adapter. Athough there is no 3.5 mm jack, there is however a USB-C cable, USB-C headset, a leather protective case and screen protectors pre-applied on both screens.

The Huawei Mate X2 will be available in China from February 25. It will be available online and in brick and mortar stores. For now, there is no word on its availability outside China.
