The latest version of Google Photos is said to be coming with a chat feature. What this means is that you can actually get to talk with some Persons and share photos with them directly from Google Photos. Although this update has not been rolled out globally, it might be available as from next week according to some source.
Google have been promoting it’s Files and Google photos apps more aggressively lately. All new versions of Android come packed with the Google Files as file manager and Google Photos for gallery.

We don’t know for sure how this new feature will actually be included or if there is going to be the regular send me friend request social media trend. What we do know is that it will make use of your gmail and you can only share photos to persons in your contact.
Since Google Photos make use of your Gmail, we believe that you can also save photos sent to you by your contact and vice versa. More updates is likely to roll out next week and how this feature is integrated will be fully revealed.

Note that only persons who update Google photos to the latest version will make use of this feature. So practically speaking, if you don’t want to have the Google photo chat feature than you have no need to update your google photos application.
