The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset is built on TSMC’s 2nd generation 4nm process (N4P). It’s a 5G chipset that supports various 5G bands (mmWave and Sub-6 GHz). The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is the first chipset to feature a 1x ARM Cortex-X3 CPU core with a clock speed of 3.05GHz based on the ARMv9 architecture. While the 3x Arm Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and the 4x Arm Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8GHz.
For intensive work management, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is the first to use the latest ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU with a hardware-based ray tracing engine. The GPU is very powerful and in a certain previous comparison post, it smashes the Apple A16’s GPU.
For its RAM and Storage technology, the chipset has support for LPDDR5X (8533Mbps) RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Other major improvements of this chipset come in the APU, ISP, and display.

Dimensity 9200 chipset supports up to two 5K resolution displays at 60Hz, WHQD at 144Hz, and FHD+ at 240Hz refresh rate. As per connectivity, the chipset supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, with both sub-6Ghz and mmWave 5G connectivity. Additionally, the new ISP on board is the imagiq 890 which supports 8K processing, and RGBW sensors alongside 34% more power savings.
According to MediaTek, the first smartphones to use the Dimensity 9200 chipset will debut in November/December 2022. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 specs have improved in many areas like performance, improved efficiency, and an improved ISP over its processor. But do you think the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 can beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2? Qualcomm will launch the SD 8 Gen 2 in mid-November.
