The WH-1000XM5 comes with a larger carry case and that’s because of its new design. Unlike previous models, The WH-1000XM5 has new ear cups that can rotate sideways but cannot fold inwards. This is a travel headphone but it’s now left for you to decide if it is easy to carry along or not.

According to Sony, the WH-1000XM5 has better noise-canceling performance than its predecessor, especially in the mid and high frequencies. The new Sony WH-1000XM5 features a new 8-microphone system with two QN1 audio processors.
Sony’s newest wireless headphones (WH-1000XM5) have a rated battery life of 30 hours of audio playback with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) turned on and 40 hours with ANC off. You can charge the headphones over a USB-C connector.
Additionally, the headphones support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with multipoint connection, Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair support, ambient noise mode, gesture control, wear detection for play/pause, Google Assistant, and Alexa support.
