Technology is growing and charging tech is not been left behind. A new report from MyDriver in China has claimed that the Xiaomi’s 200W HyperCharge technology might be available for use very soon.
Citing “some bloggers”, who first published the news, the report claimed that the Xiaomi’s 200W charging technology will be mass-produce starting June of 2022.

The 200W HyprCharge from Xiaomi was more of a demo from the company. It was teased by the company in May 2021 on the customized version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. From the demo, the 200W wired charge was able to charge the custom-made 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 8 minutes.
It was later observed by experts that an 800 charge cycle using the 200W charging technology would degrade the battery’s recharge health by some 20% – which not such a good news.

Alongside the 200W wired charge test, Xiaomi also tested a 120W wireless charge on same device. The 120W wireless charge was able to charge the custom-made 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes.
According to the new report, the 200W charging tech could only be available on the highest-tier model of the Xiaomi Mi 11’s successor. Which is expected to be called “Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra”.

No one expected Xiaomi to mass produce this charging tech for the masses. When it was first demoed, the company never specified if the technology would ever be made available for user devices.
It was more of a concept demonstration, a way for the company to get lots of attraction. But, it will be interesting to see such charging speed in a smartphone. Currently, the charging tech available in the market can fully recharge battery in 30 minutes or longer.
