The Apple iPhone 14 is the successor of the iPhone 13 from last year. The design of the new iPhone 14 still looks like the older iPhone 13 but it has improved performance and larger camera sensors. It features the Apple GPU with 5-core graphics which is better than the 4-core graphics GPU in the iPhone 13.

The CPU is paired with the Apple GPU (5-core graphics).
The Apple A15 Bionic has a custom ISP for image processing and a new Neural Engine. The A15 Bionic chipset is one of the best chipsets when it comes to performance and efficiency. According to Apple, it is only second to the Apple A16 Bionic chipset used in the iPhone 14 Pro Models.

Cameras
iPhone 14 features a dual rear camera and dual front cameras. On the rear, it has a 12MP primary camera with an f/1.5 aperture, 1.9µm quad pixel PDAF, and 26mm focal length. The primary camera is supported by a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.4 aperture and 13mm focal length. The front cameras are a 12MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 23mm focal length and an SL 3D, (depth/biometrics sensor).
The cameras of the iPhone 14 can record videos in 4K @24/25/30/60fps. In video mode, there is a new stabilization feature known as the ACTION MODE that improves the stabilization when recording videos and the 12MP now has AutoFocus. Other available camera features are HDR, Dolby Vision HDR (up to 60fps), Cinematic mode (4K@30fps), stereo sound rec., sensor-shift OIS, LED flash, HDR (photo/panorama), etc.

The display of the Apple iPhone 14 is a 6.1-inches. It is a Super Retina XDR OLED that has support for a 60Hz refresh rate. The display resolution is 1170 x 2532 pixels. Other display features are HDR10, Dolby Vision, 800 nits (HBM), and 1200 nits (peak). iPhone 14 is made of a Glass front (Gorilla Glass), glass back (Gorilla Glass), and aluminum frame.
iPhone 14 is IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 6m for 30 mins) and features Scratch-resistant ceramic glass and oleophobic coating. The front screen has a notch that houses the 12MP front camera and Sl 3D biometric sensor. The front screen and back panels are flat and the rear camera module is placed on the top left corner of the rear panel.
The volume buttons are on the right side of the phone while the power and dedicated mute buttons are on the left side of the phone. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card space. Just like the iPhone 14 Pro models, the US models of the iPhone 14 will not have space for SIM cards. Only the models that will be launched outside the US will have space for a physical SIM card. The US models of the iPhone 14 will only support eSIM.

The Apple iPhone 14 comes in three RAM and storage configurations. Its storage options are 6GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB, and 6GB + 512GB storage. It has no space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot. But it gives users access to cloud storage services like iCloud and Google Drive.
Powering the iPhone 14 is a 3279mAh battery that has support for wired fast charging that can charge the battery of the phone from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes. Other charging features include 15W MagSafe wireless charging and 7.5W Qi magnetic fast wireless charging.

The Apple iPhone 14 boots Apple iOS 16 out of the box and will be getting five years of major software updates and six years of monthly security patches. Users can download and install apps from the Apple App Store and updates can be downloaded via OTA or from the Apple website.
