Come December 31st, Apple will be saying its final goodbye to one of its most popular and bestseller smartphones, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. According to an internal memo, Apple will add the iPhone 6 Plus to its list of retro products by the end of 2021.
But Apple Store and Authorized Apple service providers will be selling repair parts for the iPhone 6 plus as long the parts are available.
Back in 2014 when Apple launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, these devices became very popular for various reasons. First, these are first Apple iPhones with big displays, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. This trend started the era of bigger displays in the smartphone market.
Production of the iPhone 6 Plus was discontinued back in 2016 and sales was halted making it unavailable in most regions. So, it make sense that Apple is finally gradually dropping support for the device.
One other reason that made the iPhone 6 series the sweetheart for most users was because it was the first device to support Apple Pay. It also featured the Apple A8 Bionic chip with improved and better camera system.
Although the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus didn’t get iOS 14 (Apple stopped software support at iOS 13), users will remember these smartphones for been the first in many areas. And for that, it’ll leave lots of memories for such users.
