Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is faster than Exynos 2400

According to the performance test carried out by Geekbench 6, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is 4% faster in multi-core than the Exynos 2400. Also, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is 6% faster in single-core than the Exynos 2400.

Going by Geekbench 6 scores, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 had 2,297 Single-core points and 7,104 multi-core. While the Exynos 2400 chip had 2,193 points on single-core and 6,895 on multi-core.

CPU Architecture

The Exynos 2400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoCs are both processed on a 4nm node. But the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was made by TSMC, while the Exynos 2400 was built by Samsung LPP+ process. The difference between these two is obvious when it comes to battery efficiency and thermal management.

As for the CPU architecture, the Exynos 2400 has 10 cores. The prime Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.1GHz alongside 2x Cortex-A720 cores ticking at 2.9 GHz. While minor tasks will be handled by the 3x Cortex-A720 cores clocked @ 2.6GHz and 4x Cortex-A520 cores @ 1.8 GHz.

In contrast, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has 8 cores. The prime Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.3GHzalongside, 5x performance cores at up to 3.2 GHz, and 2x efficiency cores clocked @ up to 2.3 GHz.

GPU | Performance

When it comes to the GPU, both chipsets have hardware ray-tracing technology and Global illumination support. The Exynos 2400 has an Xclipse 940 GPU based on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 brings Adreno 750 GPU- the best Qualcomm has ever made. For one thing, both chipsets can deliver ‘console-defying’ gaming with 240 fps support on 240 Hz displays. They are both capable of playing intensive games.

AI and ML

As for AI and ML, no chipset is currently touching the height of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 yet. Qualcomm’s chipset has a lot of advanced computing going into play here. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 supports multi-modal generation AI models, including large language models (LLMs) and language vision models (LVMs) among others. Exynos 2400 came prepared as well but still behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
