Huawei P40 Pro Plus Specifications: Huawei have launched the new set of Huawei P series without Google support. Well, Huawei is a big brand and they have to look for a way to survive without Google or United State market. But, what are the features of the newly released Huawei P40 Pro Plus? How good/bad is it without Google Playstore? You might just be surprised.

The new Huawei P40 Pro Plus is the most premium among all the three Huawei P40 series released by the company. It comes with bigger screen size than the Huawei P40 and has five cameras instead of four found in the others. What more can we see in this giant of a camera phone.

Most people won’t like to buy an expensive phone without Google Playstore and some if its related services. But, for Huawei to bring out such an expensive phone without those support means they might just have plans of doing well without those services. Huawei P40 Pro Plus Build and Display

The phone has a Glass front, cerramic back, cerramic frame and a OLED display type. It comes with a huge display size of 6.58 inches and it has a resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels (~441 ppi density). Other features of the display includes; DCI-P3, HDR10 and 90Hz. It also has a rating for dust and water resistant.

This phone is a beauty to behold. And it feels very sleek when you hold it in your hands. It’s size is not that big for a Pro Plus as it can easily fit into your pocket and hands. The cerramic back and frame is one of a kind and its pretty cool quite different from the aluminum materials.

Huawei P40 Pro Plus Chipset, RAM and Internal Storage

It is packed with Huawei own HiSilicon chipset, the HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G (7 nm+) a great chipset in number of ways. For processing data, the phone uses Octa-core 2×2.86 GHz Cortex-A76, 2×2.36 GHz Cortex-A76 for processing data and 1.95 GHz Cortex-A55 for power efficiency.

The phone comes in a single variant of 8GB RAM and 512GB Internal Storage and there is also a space for external storage via microSD card. This is relatively good as more files can be saved and the phone can process more data with the installed RAM size. If you manage to fill up the internal storage, then you have the option of external storage up to 256GB via microSD card.

Huawei P40 Pro Plus Camera

The Huawei P series are well known for their defining cameras. I guess United State and Google could not take away their camera powers even with all the limitations they placed on the company. Well, the phone did not disappoint even though its megapixels are not on the high side but it was built with big image sensors that makes you love all its photos.

It comes with a main shooter of 50MP with its sensors at 1/1.28 beating the 1/1.33 sensor found in the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Can the Huawei 50MP with bigger sensor beat the 108MP of the Samsung Galaxy in a photo contest? We’ll just to have to wait for a camera test to confirm.

There is also a two 8MP telephoto camera with 10x and 3x optical zoom feature, 40MP ultrawide and a TOF 3D cameras at the back. The cameras comes with some features such as; omnidirectional PDAF, OIS and gyro-EIS in video mode.

Up front the phone uses a 32 megapixel dual camera placed in a somewhat big punch hole at the top left screen. The front and back cameras can take awesome photos and even shoot 4K videos.

The phone run out of the box Android 10.0 (AOSP + HMS) where AOSP refers to Android Open Source Project and HMS refers to Huawei Mobile Services. The phone might not be coming with Google Services supports but don’t write it off at least not yet. You should see its water fall display on all four sides then have a taste of how its EMUI is performing with the Android 10. One can not take way the fact that a Google service support would have brought that finishing touch.

The Phone is yet to be announced for sale in the global market. But, in its most expensive variant, the Huawei P40 Pro Plus is expected to cost about N567,000.
