It’s confirmed that Motorola will be the first the launch a smartphone ‘Moto Edge X30’ with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Along with the Moto Edge X30, the company will also be releasing the Edge S30 powered by the Snapdragon 888+.
Both smartphones are expected to be launch on December 9th (which is two days from now). But, there is something more.
Special Edition of Moto Edge X30
Lenovo China General Manager for mobile division has come on Weibo to confirm that there will be special edition of the Moto Edge X30 with an under-display camera.
Chen Jin said that the special edition of the Moto Edge X30 will be the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 platform with an under-display camera. He also added that the special edition of the Edge X30 features a 60MP front camera (which will be under the screen).
Although there is limited details about the specification of the Edge X30 special edition, but we know it features the following; full screen, smaller bezels and slightly thick chin. Our guess is, this device features similar specs as the standard Moto Edge X30.
Specifications of Moto Edge X30
The Motorola Moto Edge X30 features a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ 144Hz display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It has a 60-megapixel front camera placed in a punch hole and a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit.
It may run on the latest My UX 3.0 based Android 12 OS. The Edge X30 may come with 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging.
The special edition might retain same specifications with the addition of under-display camera. This means, instead of getting a punch hole for the selfie camera, users get to use the full screen. We hope to see more of this trend in 2022.
