OnePlus Nord 2T Review: There are very few phones in the market right now that have the same price as the OnePlus Nord 2T and also match its performance. In fact, from my experience with this phone, the OnePlus Nord 2T is a budget phone with an incredible performance (even the performance of the Galaxy A53 5G doesn’t come close).
But, there is more to smartphones than just performance. Now that you’ve got the spoiler alert that the Nord 2T has incredible performance for its price, what about the camera, display, battery, and software? Are these as good as the performance of the OnePlus Nord 2T? Well, let’s find out from this OnePlus Nord 2T Review.

Display, Design, and Build
On the display front, the OnePlus Nord 2T features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The display is bright and colorful but not as smooth as a 120Hz refresh rate screen. But, using the phone also feels fast thanks to the OxygenOS software.
The Nord 2T has a dot-in design on the screen. The dot-in or punch hole houses the selfie camera and is placed in the top left corner of the screen. On the rear, it has a camera module that houses three camera sensors. The camera module has two rings and the primary camera is inside the top ring while the other two camera sensors are inside the bottom ring.

The build materials of the Nord 2T are Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), and a plastic frame. These are the build materials for every budget smartphone on the market right now. The phone feels solid to hold and the back panel has this soft Matte finish to it. It retains little fingerprints and does not accept dirt easily.
Everything about the display of the OnePlus Nord 2T is really good. It has slim bezels on both sides and on the top but the bottom bezel is a little bigger. The display gives you good colors and you’ll enjoy watching movies or playing games with the phone.
As far as build, design, and display go, the OnePlus Nord 2T is pretty solid. But, it has no official IP water and dust resistance rating. Which is not so good for durability. However, this phone will survive sweat but don’t put it into the water and dusty areas.

Camera
Many people love using their smartphones to take photos and videos. So, how good are the cameras of the OnePlus Nord 2T? Well, the simple and short answer is “decent”.
The OnePlus Nord 2T comes with triple rear cameras and a single front camera. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera with PDAF and OIS features. This camera is supported by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 32MP selfie camera. The most useful camera inside the Nord 2T is the 50MP primary camera.

The primary camera can take videos in 4k resolution with some level of stability. Although the 8MP ultra-wide lens is good it struggles under low light. The same is the story for the 32MP selfie camera. Under good lighting, the cameras of the OnePlus Nord 2T are really good and give you good colors. Another camera feature that is really good is the night mode.
The night mode is not as good as the night mode of flagship phones but it does light up and brightens night shots. One of the major downsides of the camera is that the stabilization features struggle when shooting 4k and 1080p videos. But, if you can hold your hands steady you should be just fine (makes me wonder about the use of the stabilization feature if I’m supposed to hold my hands steady).

Chipset, CPU, and GPU
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G chip inside the OnePlus Nord 2T makes it a very good-performing budget smartphone. This chipset comes with an octa-core CPU that is paired with the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It is a very good performing chipset and is also very power efficient.
The Dimensity 1300 5G chipset inside the Nord 2T is about 30% better than the Dimensity 1200 5G chipset used inside the OnePlus Nord 2. And the chipset is also better than the Dimensoty 900 series and Exynos 1280 chipsets you see in most budget and mid-range phones.
So, when it comes to performance, the OnePlus Nord 2T is incredible. It can play heavy games without dropping frame rates, it does not lag when it’s rendering high graphics, and it can maintain the same level of performance over a long period of time. If you’re a gamer who needs a budget 5G phone or a heavy user, then the Nord 2T will give you incredible performance for the price.
RAM and Storage
The OnePlus Nord 2T comes in two storage configurations. It comes with 8 + 128GB and 12 + 256GB of storage. Sadly, this phone has no room for storage expansion via a microSD card. Aside from not having room for a microSD card, the phone does not also have the 3.5mm jack port but features stereo speakers.
However, if you need a budget OnePlus phone that has a MicroSD slot and 3.5mm headphone jack, then go check out the OnePlsu Nord CE 2 Lite.

Battery
OnePlus Nord 2T is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for an 80W fast charge. You can charge this device from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes. The phone does not have support for a wireless charge or reverse charge features.
The battery of the OnePlus Nord 2T can take you for 2 days with normal usage. But, if you’re a heavy user with the 90Hz refresh rate turned on, the battery can take you for about 8 hours screen on time.

Software
OnePlus Nord 2T boots OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box. OnePlus is promising two years of major software updates and three years of monthly security patches for this phone. This phone also has support for Google Mobile Services and you can download software updates, apps, and games from the Google Play Store.
Other sensor features are Fingerprint (under display, optical), Google Assistant, GPS, proximity sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi Direct, etc. The available colors of the OnePlus Nord 2T are Gray Shadow and Jade Fog.

OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Conclusion
The review of the OnePlus Nord 2T shows that it’s one of the best-performing budget phones to buy in 2022. It has a very good performing chipset, decent camera, nice battery life, a very colorful display, and a really nice design. But, it’s not water and dustproof and its display is just 90Hz (120Hz would have been better).
This OnePlus Nord 2T review has shown that the phone performs better than most of the phones in the same price range. But it also lacks some cool camera features and some durability features. However, I’ll still recommend the OnePlus Nord 2T to those who need a good performing phone at a good price.
