Panasonic LUMIX S5II vs LUMIX S5IIX are like twins. They share the same features in most cases. Both cameras feature a new 24.2MP 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor with PDAF (phase detection autofocus). They are also capable of video recording in 6K 10-bit 4:2:0 or 4K 10-bit 4:2:2.

Another similarity is the stabilization system. The S5II and S5IIX have 5-axis Body IS and 2-axis lens-based OIS, which works for photos and videos. Alongside the Active IS mode, they all function to improve the camera’s stabilization.

Other specs they share include USB-C charging, full-sized HDMI port, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 48kHz/24-bit internal microphone recording and 96kHz/24-bit with external microphone, 3680K dot OLED viewfinder, 3.0-inch fully articulating 1840K dot touchscreen, etc.


Remember that the LUMIX S5IIX is more expensive by $200. Now, here is why. The LUMIX S5IIX is the only one capable of RAW video output over HDMI and all-intra and ProRes recording on SSD, along with wired and wireless streaming for live streaming and USB tethering.
