Realme details 108MP camera ahead of the Realme 8 Pro launch happening later this month. The Chinese tech company held a Camera Innovation Event today where this was revealed. The sensor unveiled by the tech brand is Samsung’s ISOCELL HM2 with 9 to 1 pixel binning tech and up to 3x lossless zoom.

The sensor developed by Samsung is capable of enhancing your photo taking and video making experience. The ISOCELL HM2 is a 1/1.52” sensor with 0.7 μm pixel size and Super-PD autofocus. It can shoot stills at up to 12000×9000 pixel resolution and record videos up to 4K@120 fps.

Also interesting is the fact that Realme has developed several custom optimizations to the sensor which will be present on the upcoming Realme 8 Pro.

What to Expect from the Realme 8 Pro’s 108MP Camera

One advantage of the 108MP sensor created by Samsung, is its ability to zoom while still being able to preserve details and colors without over-sharpening the photo.

Realme also did its homework by adding to the ISOCELL HM2 a Tilt-shift time-lapse video which uses an algorithm to capture tilt-shift photos and videos. By so doing, the main object can now be in focus while the background remain blur. As a matter of fact, the Realme 8 Pro will be the first smartphone with tilt-shift video capture.

And lastly, new filters are coming. The Realme 8 Pro will have Neon Portrait, Dynamic Bokeh Portrait, and AI Color Portrait. Aside from the cameras, there are other interesting things about the Realme 8 Pro. The smartphone will make its debut in India first, before launching in other Asian countries within. The price is also expected to be price friendly. More update on the smartphone is forthcoming.
