Display and Design

The display panel, resolution, refresh rate, size, and brightness on both smartphones are the same. Both phones have the same 6.8-inc AMOLED display and supports 120Hz refresh rate. The display on both phones also have very slim bezels and features the under-display camera technology for the selfie camera.

The designs of both phones are also very similar. The rear cameras, charging ports, 3.5mm headphone jack port, placement of the volume and power buttons, and the rear camera module are all the same. As gamin smartphones, both also have the same gaming hardware features.

Both phones have the same Pressure sensitive zones (520Hz touch-sensing), Built-in cooling fans, and Aviation aluminum middle frames. While the performance of the Red Magic 8 Pro+ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, that of the Red Magic 8S Pro+ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. Now, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chip in the Red Magic 8S Pro+ has faster CPU cores and features an improved GPU for graphics rendering.

For example, the prime performance core of the chipset in the Red Magic 8 Pro+ has a speed of 3.2GHz while that of the Red Magic 8S Pro+ is 3.36GHz. So, because the chipset in the Red Magic 8S Pro+ has faster CPU and a more powerful GPU, this is why it’s a better gaming phone than the Red Magic 8 Pro+.

The batteries of both phones can last you for a long time. However, none of these phones supports wireless and reverse wireless charging system.

The software in both phones is Redmagic OS 8 based on the Android 13 operating system. ZTE/Nubia has promised at least two years of software updates for both smartphones.
