Samsung Galaxy A23 vs Redmi Note 11: Display and Design

These two smartphones have different designs. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 has a dot in-display design, while the Samsung Galaxy A23 has a waterdrop notch design. The Galaxy A23 screen of 6.6-inch is bigger than the Redmi Note 11 with 6.4-inch. And both smartphones have a plastic back and plastic frame.

The display of these two smartphones supports a 90Hz refresh rate. But the quality of the display favours the Redmi Note 11 because it is super AMOLED. While the display of the Galaxy A23 is PLS LCD. The super AMOLED on Redmi Note 11 is brighter and more colourful. Thus, when it comes to displaying, the Redmi Note 11 is better.

The camera of both smartphones is alike. Both have a quad-camera system consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro and the ultra-wide on the Redmi Note 11 is 8MP but Galaxy A23 has 5MP. When it comes to front-facing cameras, Redmi Note 11 has 13MP, while Galaxy A23 features 8MP.

Overall, based on our testing in the studio, both smartphones have decent cameras. But when it comes to videography, it seems to favour the Galaxy A23.

Both smartphones are 4G only (there is no 5G support). And both have a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration. As well as a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. Additionally, the performance of both devices is similar. They are both powered by Snapdragon 680 4G chipset. So the performances across both phones are alike.

Software

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 runs Android 11 out of the box. While Samsung A23 runs Android 12 from the box. So the Galaxy A23 is a year ahead of the Redmi Note 11 in terms of software. Although both tech companies have promised years of regular software updates.

In conclusion, both smartphones are good as they come with almost similar specs and features. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 offers better value for money. It surpasses the Galaxy A23 when it comes to displaying quality, faster charging and price.

So if I’m to score these two smartphones by percentage. I’ll score the Redmi Note 11 (53%) while the Samsung Galaxy A23 gets (47%)
