TCL has released the TCL Stylus 5G phone in the US market and it’s exclusive to T-Mobile users (at least for now). This phone comes with a built-in S Pen (Stylus). The price of the TCL Stylus 5G starts at $285 making it the cheapest 5G phone to have a built-in S Pen or Stylus in the US.
Although the built-in S PEN is not as sophisticated as the Bluetooth S PEN you get with the Galaxy A22 Ultra, the TCL Stylus 5G has some impressive modifications for its S Pen. For example, the stylus of this phone has some custom software tweaks like a GIF creator, screen magnification, image scribbling, and storing e-signatures.
TCL Stylus 5G has a 6.81-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Its build materials are Glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. The display is protected by NEG but it has no official water and dustproof rating.
The phone comes with quad rear cameras and a single front camera. On the rear, it has a 50MP main sensor (0.64μm pixels), a 5MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth lens. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. The cameras of this phone can only shoot videos in 1080p resolution.
The chipset inside is the Dimensity 700 5G chip from MediaTek. This chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.
TCL Stylus 5G boots TCL UI 4.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. TCL might roll out at least two years of software updates for this phone. The TCL Stylus 5G is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for an 18W charge solution.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, etc. TCL Stylus 5G comes in a single Lunar Black color and if you live in the US, you can now buy the phone from T-Mobile for $258.
