Vivo will be releasing a version of its flagship phone powered by a chipset from MediaTek. The vivo X90 Pro and vivo X90 Pro+ are both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm but it seems the Chinese phone maker is working on another X90 phone that will feature the Dimensity 9200+ chipset from MediaTek.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the new flagship X90 phone will be known as the vivo X90S and will be powered by the soon-to-be-announced Dimensity 9200+ chipset from MediaTek. This is the same chipset that will feature in the incoming iQOO Neo 8 Pro.
As per the report, the soon-to-be-released Dimensity 9200+ chipset will be more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It’s said to have a higher AnTuTu score and features a faster CPU core.

The AnTuTu score of the Dimensity 9200+ is said to be around 1,350,000 points. This is a bigger score than what the two most powerful phones in the market have- the vivo X90 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Going by the benchmark result, it seems the changes coming in the Dimensity 9200+ is more than just processor update or increase in the frequency speed of the CPU cores. It might be that the incoming chipset that will feature in the vivo X90S is coming with a new CPU, GPU, memory, and UX performance.
More details about the Dimensity 9200+ chipset will be available soon when MediaTek releases the chipset and we also expect to see more details on the specs of the vivo X90S in the coming weeks.
