If you are asked to pick between a Samsung midrange phone and an OPPO midrange phone, chances are you’ll pick the Samsung phone.

Samsung phones are good but other tech companies are producing more affordable and better performing phones in the midrange segment. As the midrange segment gets more competitive, Samsung needs to up its game to reclaim it’s spot there.

We know that If you are a fan of the Samsung brand, the title of this article might be upsetting to you. But that is okay, because after extensive research, tests and reviews, we have come up with this article and know the title above is the best way to describe it.

To be fair, Samsung still make one of the best flagship phones today. Take a look at the performance of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z flip. These phones scream premium from afar.

But, somehow Samsung has always managed to produce midrange phones that are not only overly prices but also under perform. A careful research and review shows that more affordable phones from Redmi, Infinix and Oppo performs better than Samsung phones in same category.

Redmi Note 9s Vs Samsung Galaxy A51

The Redmi Note 9s (4/64GB) cost about $220 while the Galaxy A51 (4/128GB) cost about $330. If only price could determine a better phone.

Both phones come with plastic back, plastic frame and glass front. But the Redmi Note 9s come with a better build material. It uses a Corning gorilla glass 5 which is more durable compared with the Corning gorilla glass 3 of the Galaxy A51.

The fingerprint sensor of the Redmi Note 9s is side mounted and it respond faster than the in display fingerprint scanner of the Galaxy A51.

There is also a Snapdragon 720G chip used for the Redmi Note 9s which is two times faster than the Exynos 9611. So far, the cheaper phone is having the better of this comparison.

From the display features, you will notice the huge difference between these two phones. Infinix Zero 8 come with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a bigger 6.85 inch display.

It also has the better MediaTek Helio G90T chip which is almost three times faster than the Exynos 9611 chip used in the Galaxy A51 according to antutu and benchmark score.

Although the side mounted fingerprint scanner of the Zero 8 is faster, the Face unlock feature of the Galaxy A51 is better.

Samsung Galaxy A21s Vs OPPO A93

Samsung used Exynos 850 in powering the Galaxy A21s while OPPO used MediaTek Helio P95 for the OPPO A93. Checking the scores in antutu and benchmark, the OPPO A93 is three years ahead of the Galaxy A21s.

Maybe Samsung midrange phones will improve and work better in coming yeara. They seem to be focusing all attention on its flagship phones. While their flagship phones gets better, their midrange phones keeps climbing down the ladder.

There is one feature that is very hard to take away from Samsung phones though. And that the photo quality of Samsung phones.

Samsung might be failing to fully equipped their midrange phones but these phones are still among the best camera midrange phones available in the market.
