Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s Review: So, we recently ran some tests with the recently releases Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s. We had our hands on the Redmi Note 9s and there are some things you might want to know about these phones. There are lots of interesting things you should look for in these phones (good and bad).

At first sight, you’ll fall in love with the phone. It has dot display at the middle which make the phone looks really pretty. When you hold the phone, it feels really premium. You can say this phone is a complete mid range smartphone.

One important thing you’ll notice when you hold this phone at first is that its pretty heavy. This might be due to the fact that it has big screen and has a big battery of 5020mAh.

The side mounted finger print is very smart and responds very fast. At the back, you’ll see the camera nicely placed. Xiaomi had said the phone has glass back, but it seems to have a plastic back from The Tear Down Video below.

Overall, this phone is not only beautiful but also have that premium feel when you hold it. Its a kind of phone that gives some kind of swag when you hold it (though is pretty heavy).

Redmi Note 9s Camera and Video Quality

One reason why people buy phones it to capture those beautiful moment. Capturing these moments becomes more remarkable when you use a phone with good camera quality.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s can take incredible photos and shoot amazing videos. You can see the details of photos while enjoying the OIS feature.

Then there is the 48 MP rear camera capable of 1080p video mode at 30fps. Up front, you have a 16 MP camera that also performs very well.

Redmi Note 9s RAM Management and Speed Test

The phone comes 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage. There is also the option of 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage. But, we ran our test with the 6GB RAM variants and below are our findings.

First, we noticed that with the 6GB RAM, you can open more than 15 Applications without issues. Even after 15 opened apps, the phone still runs very smooth with no sign of lagging behind.

What this means is that, you can switch between multiple apps without these apps having to restart. Secondly, the 128GB internal storage also helps with storage. Given the big size of photos and videos due to the quality, the internal storage really helps.

Then we come to the speed management. This phone is very fast thanks to the Snapdragon 720G chipset that powers it. You can play games for a long time without the phone getting heated up. Big games like PUBG, PES and FIFA run very smooth without issues.

If you want a phone that can open multiple apps, have big storage and runs very smoothly then you should strongly consider buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s, Redmi Note 9 Pro or Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

Redmi Note 9s Water Test

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max are said to be splash resistant. But we at Tech Arena24 took it a little farther by dipping it completely into water to see how it will perform. Well, we had two results that will interest you.

First, the phone came out pretty strong. All features were fully functional. The fingerprint scanner was good, display was okay, the boot up well and touch screen was very good. You should watch the video to see the first performance when it was removed from water.

Remember we said the Redmi Note 9s water test had two results? well the second result wasn’t that pleasing. There were some few complications and we’ll explain below.

The result for the second test came after some few hours of the test above. Gradually the phone started to develop some faults.

It started with the screen refusing to touch, then the finger print scanner became unresponsive and finally the phone died. After a couple of hours, the phone refuse to come on.

We decided to open and see inside the phone. When we did that, we saw that some water have entered into the phone causing these problems. We cleaned the phone but unfortunately, we could not remove the waters from inside the screen.

Screen became moist and you could spot the drops of water inside. To change the screen will cost about $35-$40. again, you can watch the video of the second Redmi Note 9s Water test result below.

Conclusion of the Redmi Note 9s Review

All of the Redmi Note 9 series comes with great cameras, nice design, good performing SOC, incredible RAM and Internal Storage but non is water resistant.

Yes, the Redmi Note 9s, Note 9 Pro are splash resistant but that does not mean you can use them under water without damaging the phone. These phones can survive little drops of water, but put them inside water and they won’t survive that.

So, there is the Redmi Note 9s Review. This is one phone you should buy as it comes with almost everything you need. Good camera, good RAM size, gaming SOC, big battery with fast charge, modern design and big screen.
