Nothing CEO Carl Pei has finally come out to confirm the chipset the Nothing Phone 2 will use. And in the process, he highlighted the key differences between Nothing Phone 2 and Nothing Phone 1.

For a starter, be aware that the Nothing Phone 2 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 5G chipset. Let’s get to the details below.

4 Differences Between Nothing Phone 2 and Nothing Phone 1

1. Performance Boost

According to Carl Pei, the Initial tests show that app opening speed on Phone (2) is TWICE as fast compared to Phone (1), with an impressive 80% overall performance improvement. It’s looking very promising! And beyond the performance, the Phone 2 brings other significant improvements like in network connectivity by supporting satellite browsing.

2. Next Level Camera

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on the Nothing Phone (2) features an 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) capable of capturing over 4,000 times more camera data than the ISP used on the Phone (1). As a result, the Phone (2) camera offers advanced features like Raw HDR and 4K recording at 60 fps.

3. Battery life

Aside from the top-flight performance, the Nothing Phone 2 battery will last longer than the Nothing Phone 1. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 was chosen by Carl Pei and his team for a reason. The SD 8+ Gen 1 being built on TSMC’s 4nm process, it’s best-in-class when it comes to power consumption and heat management.

4. Price

Lastly, Nothing Phone 2 will be slightly more expensive than the Nothing Phone 1. Although Carl Pei did say the price differences won’t be outrageous we only get to confirm that when the phone launches later in June/July 2023.
