OnePlus 8 Pro: OnePlus Phones are known to be killers of flagship phones. Well, you might be wondering what i mean by the statement above. You see, every year, OnePlus manages to bring a smartphone with almost all the features of Flagship phones but at a more cheaper price. And guess what, they did it again with the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is the new high end smartphone from OnePlus. This is the upgrade of the OnePlus 7 series released last year by the smartphone company. It is also the higher version of the OnePlus 8 series released. But, what are the things that makes up this phone?

With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series and Huawei P40 series, there is likely no better time to release a phone that comes with similar feature at a lesser price. Here is the deal, the new OnePlus phone costs about $800 which is about $400 cheaper than the recent Samsung and Huawei flagship. But somehow, this new phone also manages to come with all the features in those expensive phones. Yeah it is incredible right?

Specifications of the OnePlus 8 Pro

Build and Display

The phone comes with Glass front (Gorilla Glass), glass back (Gorilla Glass), aluminum frame. Its screen size is 6.78 Fluid AMOLED display type with a punch hole display at the top left. It also has a very small bezer and comes with a screen resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels (~513 ppi density) with a Corning Gorilla Glass protector.

There is 120Hz refresh rate, IP rating for water, dust and splash resistance. Now, this is everything that flagship devices comes with in display category. it even gets better with the rest feature. Plus i almost forgot the premium look and how the display rolls down the screen curves (has its disadvantages though).

Chipset, RAM and Internal Storage

OnePlus decided to power this new smartphone with the recent Qualcomm SOC. The phone uses the Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) which is very popular for its many powers. It also uses the Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585) CPU and Adreno 650 GPU for image and games processing.

So far, the phone comes in two variants; 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage and 12GB RAM and 256GB Internal Storage. There is no space for external storage via microSD card which means you have make use of the Internal Storage.

Camera

OnePlus phones are pretty good when it comes to camera. although they don’t always come with high megapixel sensors but they always come with cool camera features and can take good photos.

At the back, the phone comes with a 48 megapixel main shooter, 8 megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom, 48 megapixel ultrawide and color filter Camera. The rear cameras are placed linearly at the back of the phone.

Upfront, the comes with a 16 megapixel selfie camera placed in a punch hole at the top left. Cameras at the rear is capable of shooting 4K videos, has OIS, gyro-EIS, 3x optical zoom and other features enabled.

Software and Battery

The phone run out of the box Android 10 along with OnePlus latest software the OxygenOS 10.0 which is really good. This phone is powered by a non removable 4510mAh battery with 30W fast charge and 30W wireless fast charge enabled. Charging the phone should not be much of a problem.
