OnePlus is working on the release of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro and it could be the first smartphone with 24GB RAM. The Ace 2 Pro will be the upgrade/successor to the OnePlus Ace 2 phone released in China a few months back.

This new report is coming from popular tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo. According to the tipster, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will feature a 24GB RAM and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Note that the Ace phone lineup from OnePlus has been China exclusive but the company had always rebranded the phones as Nord or OPPO devices in India and Europe.

We think it’s possible for the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro to feature a 24GB RAM because the OnePlus Ace Genshin Impact edition featured 18GB RAM. So the next RAM upgrade for the Ace 2 Pro will be 24GB.

However, DCS did not specify of there will be a software RAM extension for the device. This means that the 24GB RAM on the Ace 2 Pro could be hardware or 18GB RAM + 8GB virtual RAM.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro expected specifications

Aside from the RAM, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to feature some other interesting specifications. The display of the Ace 2 Pro is expected to be a 6.74-inch 1.5K OLED display with curved edges, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter.

The chipset that will power the performance of the Ace 2 Pro is expected to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G chipset. This means it’ll be a 5G smartphone and it’ll support up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. This means there will be other RAM and storage version but the big RAM and internal storage means it might not have space for a microSD card slot.

A 5,000mAh battery is expected to power the phone and it’ll have support for a 100W and 150W wired fast charging (depending on the models). It might not support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

As per software, the phone will boot Android 13-based ColorOS custom skin out of the box. We expect the Ace 2 Pro to get at least two years of major software update and three years of monthly security patch update.
