Display: 144Hz vs 60Hz

The OnePlus Pad has a better display than the Google Pixel Tablet for a couple of reasons. One, the OnePlus Pad has an 11.65-inch display which is bigger than the 10.95-inch of Pixel Tablet. Two, the display of the OnePlus Pad supports a 144Hz refresh rate which is smoother than the 60Hz display of the Pixel Tablet.

Both devices have the same IPS LCD display panel but the extra display features of the OnePlus Pad such as a smoother refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support make its display better than that of the Pixel Tablet.

None of the devices is certified to be water and dustproof but both are made of very strong materials. Both are made of a Glass front and an aluminum frame. The OnePlus Pad with a weight of 552 g (1.22 lb) is however heavier than the Pixel Tablet with a weight of 493 g (1.09 lb). So if weight is something you consider, you should take note of this.

Chipset: Performance and Gaming

The OnePlus Pad has a better performance than the Google Pixel Tablet and this is because of the chipset inside. The OnePlus Pad features the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset which has faster CPU cores and is paired with a more powerful GPU than the Google Tensor G2 chipset in the Pixel Tablet.

Both devices are WiFi only and have no space for a SIM card tray. When it comes to playing games, processing data, and rendering graphics, the OnePlus Pad is smoother and faster than the Pixel Tablet. The performance of the Pixel Tablet is very good but not as good as what you’ll get in the OnePlus Pad.

Camera: Photography and Videography

The camera sensors on both smartphones are different. The Pixel Tablet has an 8MP main camera and an 8MP front camera while the OnePlus Pad has a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front camera. The cameras of both devices are good for video call-making and taking photos.

However, the 13MP main camera of the OnePlus Pad can record videos in 4K resolution but the main camera of the Pixel tablet can not. For day-to-day photography, both phones are very good but when it comes to taking videos, I’d recommend the OnePlus Pad over the Pixel Tablet.

Battery and Charging

The battery inside the OnePlus Pad is a 9,510mAh cell which is bigger than the 27Wh (about 7,297mAh) cell inside the Pixel Tablet. Both devices support wired charging but the OnePlus Pad supports faster wired charging.

The OnePlus Pad supports a 67W wired fast charging which is faster than what is available in the Pixel Tablet. The battery inside both devices will give you up to 12 hours of video streaming. Both devices have USB Type-C charging but while the OnePlus Pad has OTG and an accessory connector (for the keyboard), the Pixel Tablet has a magnetic connector (for the charging dock).

Software and other features

The OnePlus Pad and Google Pixel Tablet boot Android 13 out of the box. While the Pixel Tablet will get up to three years of software updates, the OnePlus Pad will get two. None of these devices have a microSD card and 3.5mm headphone jack ports. But both devices have stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Accelerometer, gyro, compass, etc.

The price of the Google Pixel Tablet and OnePlus Pad is $499 for the model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Although both devices have the same price tag, I recommend you buy the OnePlus Pad instead of the Pixel Tablet. See my reasons below.

OnePlus Pad vs Google Pixel Tablet: Verdict

The Google Pixel Tablet is a good device but the OnePlus Pad is better. The OnePlus Pad offers a bigger screen, a smoother refresh rate, a bigger battery, better cameras, and better performance.

The charging speaker dock is a good incentive to buy the Pixel tablet, but the PROS of buying the OnePlus greatly outweighs the PROS of buying the Pixel Tablet. You’ll get more value for the money if you buy the OnePlus Pad.
