OPPO is getting ready for the launch of its 2022 flagship smartphone “The OPPO Find X5 series” but it seems the company has more in stock. A new report has suggested that OPPO will also launch a tablet device alongside the smartphone. The incoming tablet might be called the OPPO Pad.
The devices will be announced on February 24 with the OPPO Find X5 smartphones being the major highlight of the launch event. The OPPO Pad will be in direct competition with the Xiaomi Pad 5 series.
Even though the information about the specifications of the OPPO Pad is very limited, pre-order for the device has started in China. The pre-order was organized by JD.com, a well-known trading platform in China. The landing page for the device only revealed a few details and specifications about the OPPO Pad.
From the details shared on the promo posters, the OPPO Pad will come with a display size of 11-inches, a screen resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, and have support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The poster also showed the front panel of the device. It revealed the slim bezels and the screen of the device looks like that of a PC.
Inside the device will be a Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and a battery that has support for 33W fast charge technology. As per the software, the device will boot Android 12 out of the box.
We expect to see a Wi-Fi only and 5G models of this device. And the price should be around $399 for the base model. More details about this device will be available by the 24th of February.
It’s a good thing that more companies are getting into the tablet market. This segment has long been dominated by Apple with its Apple iPads and Microsoft with its Surface Pro. But Samsung recently brought the heat with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The likes of Xiaomi and Lenovo are also weighing on the segment.
We should see more competition in the tablet smartphone market in 2022. With OPPO joining the competition, let’s see which tablet brings good value for money.
